Role
Who you are
- Programming Skills: Solid experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python
- Expertise in SQL: Proficient in optimizing queries and understanding the capabilities of both open-source and commercial databases
- Data Warehouse Experience: Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale Data Warehouse architectures using big data technologies like Redshift, Snowflake, Vertica, ClickHouse or BigQuery
- ETL Architecture: Extensive experience in implementing large-scale ETL processes, supporting multiple data sources and use cases including product analytics, marketing, and executive dashboards
- Messaging Queues: Experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ
- Cloud Platform Experience: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, including Google Functions and Google Cloud Storage
- Dimensional Modeling: Strong skills in designing data models tailored to specific use cases
- Adaptability and growth: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, quickly adjust to changing priorities and maintain a strong drive to learn new technologies and take on challenges
- Detail-Oriented and Business-Minded: Focus on delivering high quality work with strong attention to detail, while keeping a clear understanding of how solutions align with broader business goals

What the job involves
- We are looking for a talented Senior / Data Engineer to join our dynamic analytics team. You'll work closely with our game teams, building the data infrastructure that powers player experiences
- By designing scalable systems and ensuring robust data pipelines, you'll enable insights that drive player retention, enhance monetization strategies, and optimize user experience. If you're excited by big data challenges and have a passion for games, this is the role for you
- You'll design and implement scalable systems: you'll develop systems capable of handling hundreds of thousands of events per second and manage databases with terabytes of data
- You'll build and maintain our data warehouse: you'll create ETLs that integrate data from various sources, optimizing it for analysis
- You'll ensure data integrity and robustness: you'll establish a single source of truth for our key performance indicators (KPIs) and make them accessible to non-technical users through advanced data visualization tools
- You'll develop data ingestion systems: you'll design systems to ingest streams of events from our games and data from third-party APIs
- You'll implement data quality checks: you'll establish rigorous data integrity protocols to ensure our data is reliable and to identify any technical issues within our games
- You'll deploy and maintain orchestration tools: you'll manage tools for job scheduling and workflow orchestration
- You'll collaborate across teams: you'll work closely with developers and data scientists to enhance our business intelligence tools and architecture

Merging the worlds of decentralised marketplaces and gaming, Gameplay Galaxy is a company leveraging in-store purchases to create a Web3 ecosystem within immersive mobile games. Its first game, Trial Xtreme Freedom, is a Web3 sequel to the founders previous game Trial Xtreme - which achieved 250 million downloads worldwide.
Whilst blockchain and NFT purchases within games can be met with some criticism, Gameplay Galaxy leverages the new technology to enhance gameplay, providing players with the opportunity to be a part of Trial Xtreme Freedom’s evolution. Users can help create new race tracks and obstacles that can be played by other players, aiming to offer an ecosystem that develops with its user base.
The founders have a proven track record in the gaming industry, having previously co-founded Demedya (which was behind Trial Xtreme Freedom’s predecessor). The company’s user-first approach to building mobile games has helped it achieve substantial seed funding, which will accelerate the development of its debut product.
