Who you are

If you like collaborating with a cross-functional team and solving problems at scale, this could be a great fit for you
You enjoy and have 5+ years of experience building APIs and complex backend systems in the cloud
You have experience managing and manipulating data at scale
You have a passion for building and delivering high-quality software. Our backend code is in Python, so you’ll have to be comfortable with Python
You are passionate about design patterns and pragmatically applying theory into practice when architecting out systems and code
You enjoy working with cross-functional teams, synthesizing feedback and research into a well polished product
You have working knowledge of role based access control
You have potentially worked on authentication, authorization, identity providing systems or with key management
You are familiar with user and permission management features in cloud providers like Snowflake, MongoDB Atlas, AWS, Sumo Logic, Databricks etc
You are comfortable working 9-5 EST - we have a fair amount of flexibility for people to get their work done whenever works for them, but our core hours are Eastern Timezone

What the job involves

We’re looking for someone to join our cross-functional team who’s focused on making sure our enterprise customers have a delightful experience integrating with and managing access to CloudZero for their users
Our platform is used by potentially hundreds of users at each customer and we need robust access control, key management, IDP integrations, etc to give enterprises the tools they need to fully integrate with CloudZero
Design, build and maintain APIs, services, and systems for our main application
Build to scale as we bring in users with larger datasets and bigger organizations
Write readable code that is easy to maintain and extend
Collaborate with other engineers on your team to build features that solve real customer problems
Help improve our engineering processes and system to ensure we have a group that can move fast and iterate quickly, giving everyone agency, ownership, and ability to impact the success of the company

Our take

Cloud infrastructure has become the crucial foundation for almost all digital native businesses. However, as these companies expand, that means ballooning cloud computing costs, which can eat into a company's IT budget. So it is vital for companies to be able to properly evaluate their cloud spend.

CloudZero fixes this by providing transparency into a business' cloud server costs. Its platform works by aligning engineering, infrastructure, and finance teams around metrics that non-technical teams can work with. This approach has seen the company build a solid customer base including the likes of SkyScanner, Remitly and SeatGeek.

The company has raised considerable funding to support further development and scaling. And, as businesses increasingly struggle with their cloud computing spend, CloudZero is well poised for growth. It continues to make valuable partnerships and launch new capabilities such as "CloudZero Intelligence", an advanced AI system.
