Role
Who you are
- Our fast-growing business is looking for a savvy PR professional with exceptional media relation and creative skills to help us boost our online presence and visibility. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for all things pooch and can create and implement effective digital PR strategies or outreach plans as part of our wider digital marketing campaigns
- This person needs to be ready to build and nurture a strong industry network, whilst working with the marketing team to amplify campaigns and ambassador partnerships and have their finger on the pulse of new trends
Desirable
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience in a similar role, working on Digital PR
- Degree level qualification in marketing, advertising or related field
- Exceptional client management and communication skills
- Excellent research, writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills
- An understanding and practical application of SEO best practice
- Experience using outreach tools and platforms
- A varied portfolio of case studies across listed media
- Must combine creative flair with attention to fine detail
- A personal interest in health / wellness would be beneficial
What the job involves
- Develop and implement effective digital PR strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with media - journalists, bloggers, influencers, creating a relevant contact database
- Write content such as press releases, newsletters and articles
- Create and send pitches to journalists, editors etc to get online press coverage
- Collaborate with marketing team and copywriter to create compelling content and media kits for campaigns
- Collaborate with marketing team to amplify brand partnerships and ambassadors
- Use SEO principles to maximise copy’s reach
- Monitor and report on campaign performance data
- Maintain a keen understanding of trends to provide appropriate recommendations and communication strategy
- Research and present competitor PR landscape, in order to help shape opportunities for campaign activation
- Work with the SEO team to develop a pipeline of wider multi-channel opportunities
- Plan and manage brand events

Transporting the health food craze to the animal world, Pooch & Mutt is a dog food company that uses all-natural ingredients in its supplements and meals. The aim is to improve dogs' moods and behaviour by enhancing their physical health.
Pooch & Mutt also allows pet owners to shop on its website by need, providing solutions for digestion, weight loss, joint care, and low-fat options. The company has also started to expand into cat care, which, since the company’s acquisition by petcare portfolio company VAFO in 2023, will no doubt grow from its now extensive network of pet food companies.
Since its acquisition, Pooch & Mutt is planning to launch a second brand, Planet Pet Society, and expand its sales into Europe off the back of European VAFO’s majority stake.
