Manager of Accounting, EnergyHub

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Active CPA license
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and close experience in a public company environment
• Deep, working knowledge of U.S. GAAP — you find the technical side of accounting genuinely interesting, not just necessary
• Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps and build scalable solutions
• Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills

Desirable

• We're looking for an Accounting Manager to join a growing Finance team at a pivotal moment in EnergyHub's evolution
• This is a role for a technically rigorous accountant who brings precision and depth to everything they touch — someone who is energized by complexity and holds the work to an uncompromising standard
• You'll own the month-end close end-to-end, serve as the technical anchor of the accounting function, and have genuine influence over how our processes and reporting evolve
• You'll work within a structure set by our parent company, Alarm.com (Nasdaq: ALRM), while building something that truly serves EnergyHub
• If you're passionate about technical accounting, ready to take real ownership, and want your work to matter beyond the close, this role was written for you
• Own EnergyHub's month-end and quarter-end close — journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared with accuracy and on time, within the broader schedule set by Alarm.com corporate accounting
• Evaluate and redesign the close process from the ground up, building scalable, repeatable workflows and the documentation and controls to support them
• Serve as the escalation point for complex or judgmental accounting matters, including revenue recognition under ASC 606
• Partner with Alarm.com corporate accounting as EnergyHub's primary close liaison — meeting their standards for accuracy, documentation, and deadlines while translating requirements back to the EnergyHub team in a way that supports rather than impedes the business
• Partner with EnergyHub's internal teams — operations, customer success, FP&A — to provide the accounting guidance, context, and information they need to make better decisions
• Play a key role in EnergyHub's ERP migration — a multi-year initiative that will reshape how the accounting function operates — in partnership with Finance leadership and the broader Alarm.com project team
• Take on additional projects as business needs evolve — this team is growing and the scope of this role will grow with it
• You hold the work to an uncompromising standard and bring deep technical knowledge to every judgment call
• You don't cut corners, and you don't let ambiguity become an excuse for imprecision
• When something doesn't look right, you dig in
• When a policy or requirement seems unclear to a colleague, you explain the why — because you know that understanding drives better outcomes than compliance alone
• You understand that accounting doesn't happen in a vacuum
• You're equally comfortable navigating the precision and rigor that a corporate accounting team demands and translating complex requirements into plain language for a team of non-accountants who need context, not just answers
• You see your role as building something that supports the business — not policing it
• You're energized by the challenge of walking into a complex environment and making it better
• You don't need a perfect environment to do excellent work — you build the environment
