Role
Who you are
- Containerization & Orchestration: Proficiency with Kubernetes (K8s). Experience with Istio service mesh is a plus
- Cloud Providers: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or AWS
- Databases: Working knowledge of Spanner or Postgresql, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB; experience optimizing queries and database performance
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python or similar languages for tooling and automation
- CI/CD with GitHub: Experience setting up and managing GitHub Actions or similar pipelines
- Monitoring & Observability: Familiarity with tools like Datadog or similar
- Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform or similar tools
- Performance Testing: Hands-on experience with ghz, Artillery, JMeter or similar tools
- Communication & Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex ideas clearly to various stakeholders
Desirable
- Experience in the financial payments technology space
- Expertise in Cloud networking
- Experience with GCP technologies, such as Spanner, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, etc
- Experience in building large-scale, distributed systems
- Experience in Java
- Experience in build tools such as Bazel
What the job involves
- We are seeking an Infrastructure / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to design, maintain, and optimize the mission-critical infrastructure that powers our platform
- In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring reliability, performance, and security across our environments, managing incidents, and contributing to our CI/CD pipelines
- You will collaborate with various teams to uphold best practices and drive continuous improvement
- Infrastructure / Security On-Call (10%)
- Serve as an on-call resource for infrastructure and security teams
- Quickly troubleshoot and resolve issues across multiple teams, ensuring minimal downtime and impact
- Incident Management (5%)
- Coordinate and facilitate incident response activities, including incident commander and root-cause analyses
- Performance Optimization (10%)
- Monitor and review key performance metrics (e.g., CPU spikes, slow queries, high-latency service calls)
- Optimize databases (Spanner, Elastic, MongoDB) for enhanced performance and reliability
- Propose and implement improvements in performance testing frameworks
- Core Infrastructure (25%)
- Oversee monthly security updates and patches, collaborating with security teams to maintain compliance
- Participate in defining and implementing core infrastructure improvements
- Service Infrastructure (50%)
- Lead the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub to enable efficient, reliable, and secure deployments
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement automated testing, build pipelines, and deployment strategies
- Develop tooling and automation to improve service scalability, availability, and reliability
