Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s, Master’s degrees or equivalent in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in data visualization
- Proficient in modern design tools (e.g., Figma) and understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into intuitive and aesthetically pleasing visualizations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, comfortable working with remote teams
Desirable
- Experience in designing B2B SaaS products or in the Climate Tech space
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus
- Strong interest in sustainability and a desire to contribute to meaningful environmental impact
What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced Product Designer with a strong background in data visualization to join our remote team
- You will play a crucial role in developing intuitive, impactful, and visually compelling designs that enable our users to understand complex environmental data easily
- As a hands-on designer, you will be involved in all aspects of the design process, from ideation to execution, and will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to bring your designs to life
- Lead the design of our SaaS platform’s user interface, with a particular focus on creating effective and engaging data visualizations
- Work directly with product management to understand user needs and business objectives, translating them into innovative design solutions
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools such as Figma
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate implementation of designs and to iterate on user feedback
- Conduct user research and usability testing to guide and validate design decisions as well as inform the product strategy and next features

As the global drive towards sustainability intensifies, companies are under increasing pressure to take account of their global environmental impact. As a result, companies need to continuously observe and culminate their carbon data and this is not necessarily a simple task. Vaayu aims to streamline this process with its carbon modelling engine which uses machine learning to simplify and automate carbon calculations for business.
Vaayu was founded by retail experts for retailers, with a vision to decelerate climate change and decarbonize the retail industry. Its automated software provides real-time data and information which can then be used to measure, monitor and reduce carbon footprints at scale. It has proven popular with the industry and its product is being used by major brands such as Klarna, Stripe and Vinted.
Having raised a significant amount of funding, most recently in a 2022 seed round, Vaayu is focusing on improving its platform's emissions reporting and benchmarking capabilities. With the retail sector responsible for up to 20% of the world's total carbon emissions and companies urgently looking for a way to bring this down, Vaayu is well poised to make a major contribution towards the world's climate goals.
