Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of front-end software development experience
- Have 8+ years of experience and demonstrable knowledge of front-end development (CSS/SASS, JavaScript and HTML)
- Are proficient with React or similar front-end framework and Typescript
- Are able to produce UI elements that are WCAG compliant
- Familiarity with Redux or other state management tools
- Experience with tailwind or a similar CSS library
- Experience with Git and NPM
- Experience writing unit tests with Jest or equivalent
- Experience writing e2e tests with Selenium/Webdriver.io/Cypress or equivalent
- Experience working in Agile and continuous delivery environments
- Familiarity with modern CI/CD tooling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Experience with Drupal
- Familiarity working with design systems
- A proactive interest in emerging AI technologies and a track record of applying AI to solve complex front-end challenges or optimize performance

- The ideal candidate possesses an orchestration mindset—the ability to skillfully prompt, manage, and direct AI to navigate complexity—and maintains a high degree of AI fluency
- You should be characterized by radical adaptability and a "builder" mentality, showing a restless drive to transform traditional work processes into agentic workflows
- Beyond technical proficiency, we value intellectual humility: the willingness to constantly unlearn old methods in favor of more efficient, AI-augmented processes
- You don't just use AI to do your job; you use it to redefine what your job can achieve
- The ideal candidate would have experience working with designers in Figma and implementing designs in React or a similar front-end framework
- They should be innovative, and bring their own ideas and suggestions to the project
- They should know what it means to be collaborative, and play well with others
- Work in a highly collaborative environment with front and back-end engineers, product managers, product owners, and product designers
- Mentor other frontend engineers on the team
- Collaborate with your team members to review their work and have your work reviewed in turn
- Design and develop unit and system tests that give the team confidence to deploy to production multiple times per day
- Produce comprehensive software documentation for public and internal use
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, development, automated test construction, deployment, and operations
- Work in a team environment where your team owns and operates the services you build
- Carry cross-team initiatives from end to end: code reviews, design reviews, operational robustness, security hygiene, etc
Our take
Acquia’s digital experience platform was born out of the Drupal Project, a popular free and open source software used to develop core content management systems. Drupal creator Dries Buytaert co-founded Acquia in 2007 in a bid to commercialise the software separately.
Considering that Acquia now counts Warner Music Group, NBC Sports, and Johnson & Johnson among its clients, and was acquired by Vista Equity Partners for $1 billion in 2019, it’s fair to say it’s been a success thus far. Indeed, the fact that Vista has a reputation for acquiring what it sees as “undervalued” companies says a lot about Acquia’s true worth.
Since the 2019 acquisition, Acquia has accelerated its growth and international expansion across the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia. It also acquired digital asset and product information management company Widen in 2021, proving its determination to keep adding to its product offering. It added new AI features to its digital asset management solution in 2024, doubling down in the face of an increasingly competitive market.
