Who you are

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 2-5 years of accounting work experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems; Workday experience is a plus
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated with the ability to multitask, work independently and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Expresses a sense of urgency in completing tasks and takes ownership and responsibility of assigned work
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic changing environment
- Eagerness to continue to learn and take on new tasks
What the job involves
- Included Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our GL Accounting team
- This role is crucial to the financial health of our organization, taking ownership of key accounting functions from daily transactions to supporting month-end close processes and year-end audits
- Manage and reconcile daily cash transactions across multiple bank accounts, including auto debits, manual wires, and sweep transfers
- Analyze existing cash processes; identify and implement solutions to optimize the cash application process
- Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to resolve outstanding checks and maintain a clean cash ledger
- Prepare and analyze monthly cash reports for senior management
- Lead and execute assigned tasks during the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met with precision
- Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts, proactively investigating and resolving any variances
- Maintain the fixed asset subledger, ensuring all fixed asset transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with accounting guidelines
- Record prepaid expenses and manage their corresponding amortization schedules
- Contribute to financial projects, such as accounting for corporate credit card expenses and employee travel expense accruals
- Compile, analyze, and prepare journal entries, while providing appropriate supporting documentation
- Ability to take on other Accounting functions to allow for cross training and career development
- Assist with the annual audit by preparing detailed schedules and providing clear, organized documentation to external auditors
- Support pre-audit preparation to uphold the organization’s record of clean audits
