Who you are
- We are looking for an experienced Technology Manager to join our Internal Audit team and take a leading role in managing and executing the company's IT audit initiatives
- 7+ years of progressive internal audit experience in either Big 4 public accounting, and/or in industry, including at least 3-5 years of supervisory responsibility
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
- CPA, CISA, CISM and/or CISSP certifications preferred
- Experience with SAP or Oracle
- Deep understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory valuation, and cost accounting
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate cross-functionally, and meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem solving and financial troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated influencing skills including the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms and inspire transformational improvement in internal controls
- Excellent written & verbal communication and presentation skills
- A high level of energy and ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic business environments, with a demonstrated track record of excelling under pressure while maintaining an accountable, collaborative, positive environment
What the job involves
- As a key member of our Internal Audit team, you collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver operational, compliance and integrated audits with special emphasis on system implementations, readiness, cybersecurity and privacy
- You are a driven manager who is looking to put their auditing experience and technical expertise to deliver on the Internal Audit Plan
- This role will support the Head of Internal Audit in conducting SOX, Enterprise Risk Assessment, IT operational and compliance audits
- Oversee the SOX IT program, managing third-party resources and internal and external stakeholders to ensure activities are completed on schedule and within budget
- Lead the IT annual internal audit plan, encompassing planning and risk assessments, stakeholder management, fieldwork execution, reporting, and monitoring of audit findings
- Evaluate control exceptions, assist control owners in timely remediation, and track and report deficiencies to senior management for enhanced visibility and resolution
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls through automation and support the implementation of new controls to improve efficiency
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to assess and enhance internal controls, streamline processes, and drive operational efficiencies
- Ensure system implementations incorporate robust controls, adhere to change control guidelines, and document all process changes effectively
- Keep business partners and IT teams informed of internal control updates through publications, training sessions, and engagement in various forums
Our take
Electric air taxis may sound like a pipedream, but companies like Archer are in the process of testing models that they hope to begin producing at scale in 2025. Designed to be quiet and efficient, its current model can fly at speeds of 150 miles per hour and cover 60 miles per flight. With urban transport in mind, these air taxis are both greener and vastly more efficient than traditional vehicles.
Given the congestion and pollution issues that many cities are facing, it's easy to imagine such transport taking over. It’s also worth noting that although Archer plans to run them with human pilots initially, the company has automation as part of its long-term goals.
Other players exist in this space: EHang, a Chinese firm, flew its first aerial taxi in America in 2020. However, Archer has big backers and customers such as United Airlines (acting both as an investor and launch customer) and manufacturing partner Stellantis with whom it is mass-producing its flagship Midnight eVTOL aircraft.
There's certainly a growing demand for clean transport without sacrificing speed, but many barriers still remain in Archer's way as it must help to initiate a seismic shift in transportation infrastructure and behaviors to reach mass adoption. That being said, it has the funding behind it, raising close to $2 billion in post-IPO funding since 2021.
