Role
Who you are
- 5+ years in a data engineering or analytics engineering role
- 1+ years of working with dbt
- Solid understanding of data modeling techniques, warehousing, orchestration, pipeline and visualization solutions
- Strong experience with SQL using Snowflake, BigQuery (or equivalent)
- 1+ years of Python experience (Pandas, Python Standard Library, SQL Drivers)
- Excellent communication skills, particularly when explaining technical or complex matters to less technical co-workers
- Media company experience preferred
What the job involves
- Kargo is looking for a Sr. Analytics Engineer with 5+ years of experience building data pipelines to join the Analytics team
- The successful candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, designing ETL pipelines, specifically with dbt, and driving standards in data governance
- As part of the Engineering Org at Kargo, the Analytics team is responsible for delivering insights across business, technical and product teams, and this position will work closely with data analysts and commercial teams to gather user requirements and translate them into technical deliverables
- We are looking for someone who is passionate about building data solutions and can take ownership of designing a scalable architecture to support the growth of our infrastructure
- Lead the implementation of dbt as our data transformation layer and optimize our data architecture
- Productionalize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines and integrate new data sources in partnership with the analysts on the team
- Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams to gather technical requirements and support the business needs of Kargo
- Ensure data quality by developing processes to drive the accuracy and integrity of our datasets used for reporting
- Responsible for sharing your expertise and mentoring the junior analytics engineers on the team

The company achieves this by directly integrating optimized impressions from the best-performing publishers within its specialized supply, using tangible identity metrics to analyze and improve advertiser KPIs, and overall facilitating personalized and mobile-optimized advertising.
The company acquired Videobyte (a video advertising platform for Connected TV) in early 2023 to expand operations into the relatively young digital TV industry and its lucrative TV formats. Bringing video, publisher tools, and unique formats to Kargo's omnichannel, this acquisition indicates a diversification of mediums for the advertising provider, who already has a firm grip on both mobile and desktop advertising platforms.
