Senior Software Engineer, Vannevar Labs

• 4+ years of software development building user-facing products
• 4+ years of experience building responsive and performant web UIs
• 2+ years of full stack development, including familiarity with relational databases (like Postgres), caching technologies (like Redis), and object stores (like S3)
• Demonstrated knowledge of tools and best-practices for testing web applications is a huge plus

Desirable

• As a member of the product engineering organization, you will be embedded within one of our small teams, of 3-5 engineers, focused on delivering mission-critical capabilities into the hands of those who serve our nation
• You’ll work directly with Product Managers, Designers, Mission and Engineers to define the product and technical direction for our product(s)
• As a senior engineer, you are expected to take ownership and do whatever it takes to deliver game changing capabilities
• You will drive key technical decisions and establish best practices for software engineering within your team
• You’ll have a chance to build applications that leverage state of the art tools in Machine Learning and AI, to solve for mission-critical workflows
• Develop applications to be hosted on classified networks
• Implement new features and user interfaces
• Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications in environments with performance and resource constraints
• Collaborate with Designers, Product Managers, Mission, and Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products
• Own and ship significant features along with architectural changes in collaboration with junior developers
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers
