Role
Who you are
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role - you might come from brand side (experience working in a high growth startup/scale up is a plus) or agency environments
- Super organized and an excellent communicator
- Experience managing multiple, stakeholders, and partners
- Experience managing social media channels (e.g., long term planning, posting schedules, etc)
- Experience working with influencers is (a plus, but not essential)
- Experience creating content for social media channels (a plus, but not essential)
What the job involves
- Our Marketing Coordinator will execute influencer partnerships and organic social media campaigns across North America. This role focuses on day-to-day implementation, content creation, community engagement, and administrative support for influencer and social initiatives
- 80% of this role is dedicated to the US market; 20% dedicated to the Canada market
- Identify and engage influencers across US and Canada markets
- Execute sample distribution and product seeding programs
- Manage influencer onboarding process and contract administration
- Coordinate content requirements and work with global teams to approve translations as required
- Execute gifting campaigns and track product distribution
- Work with PR teams to build and maintain a database of vetted creators for future campaigns
- Report monthly on campaign performance and spend efficiency
- Manage posting for NA social accounts
- Adapt global content templates for market-specific context
- Create market-specific content for national holidays and cultural events
- Monitor and respond to community engagement
- Coordinate with customer service team on inquiries via Social
- Track social media trends and competitor activities
- Provide weekly performance reports to global social team
- Create organic social campaign wrap up reports & tracking
- Create organic social briefs for creative studio
- Basic “in-app” editing to react to relevant/ ad-hoc social trends
- Support product launches and market-specific campaigns
- Coordinate with distribution partners on promotional materials
- Maintain and update marketing calendar and event planning
- Assist in processing vendor invoices and expense tracking
- Assist in providing insights on Canadian market trends and opportunities
Our take
A key development in the last 5 years has been a move towards screen-based kids entertainment like apps and streaming services. However, more recently there have been concerns that excessive screen time for children can be damaging to health and development. So, many consumers are looking for alternative products which will expose children to modernity without the drawbacks of many modern devices. This is the demand which Yoto is setting out to capitalise on.
Yoto's product - a screen-free audio platform - enables children to access features such as audiobooks, podcasts, and soundscapes via physical cards inserted into the device. The Yoto Player has received considerable early praise from consumers and from investors also, who granted Yoto considerable funding.
Perhaps the most difficult challenge for a business operating in the highly competitive children's toys market is keeping its product current. However, Yoto's software is fully customisable, meaning that alongside its library of content, parents can add their own audio files to the device to suit the interests of their children. This imbibes Yoto with a customisability that gives it an edge, especially as children's tastes change with age.
