Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Accounting or related field
- 2+ years experience with technical accounting, ideally revenue recognition
- Industry Experience strongly preferred
- Ability to operate independently in a fast paced environment
- Strong communication skills with regard to accounting concepts and the ability to clearly and concisely explain these topics to individuals with limited accounting knowledge
- Strong time management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and Foundry
What the job involves
- As a Revenue Accountant, you will be responsible for collaborating with various teams to optimize revenue recognition treatment on Anduril contracts in a timely manner
- You will assist with order entry, and contribute to important projects that enhance and accelerate our order management processes
- You will provide background to complicated revenue matters and explain why they matter in simple to understand language
- You should be comfortable supporting and explaining the revenue determination to cross functional teams and executives
- A big focus on this role is your ownership in the month end close process - this includes posting various journal entries related to revenue and costs of goods sold, performing ad-hoc tasks, and account reconciliations
- This is a critical role in a high growth company that is constantly changing
- Work with Technical Accounting to understand new and modified customer contracts to determine the appropriate revenue recognition
- Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams on revenue recognition matters, including contract review, revenue forecasting, and deal structuring. This role requires constant communication with Program Managers, Finance Program Analysts, and various other departments
- Enter and record contract details within CRM and ERP systems, commensurate with the terms of the contract
- Determine revenue for cross-functional domestic and international subsidiaries
- Primary point of contact for revenue-related matters with the business and auditors
- Look around the corner to mitigate future potential issues and mitigate actual issues with optimized processes and controls
- Oversee and review the month-end close process for revenue accounting, ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue, costs of goods sold, and related journal entries
- Perform Account Reconciliations for various revenue related accounts
- Contribute to the formulation of internal controls and policies in compliance with SOX, IPO readiness, and GAAP
- Participate in special projects or ad-hoc analysis in support of finance department and company initiatives
Our take
Anduril makes hardware and software for defense agencies including the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. Its hardware products include specialist drones with a long flight time and surveillance towers.
This hardware is tied together by proprietary software, the Lattice platform, which uses sensor fusion, machine learning, and mesh networking to integrate real-time data from Anduril hardware and third-party systems into a single, autonomous operating picture. While the hardware observes and detects, the software can make decisions as to the threat level of any anomalies, and so allow for observation and protection of an area or building with minimal manpower.
Anduril closed a Series E funding round in 2022 led by Valor Equity Partners. This funding was used for research and development of its autonomous defense products, such as the Roadrunner, a modular twin-jet powered autonomous vehicle that can take off and land vertically. Variants of the Roadrunner include defensive warhead armed interceptors which are the first drone weapons that can be retrieved after deployment. The company has also expanded to Australia where it is working in tandem with the Australian Defence Force to improve its military technology and infrastructure and is recruiting talent worldwide to support its rapidly growing portfolio of defense projects.
