Who you are

Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials
At least five years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, ideally in a technology, SaaS, or public sector environment
Excellent judgment, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High ethical standards, sound judgment, and professionalism
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to learn and grow
Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, and DocuSign preferred

This is an in-office role; candidates must be able to work onsite at least four days per week

What the job involves

OpenGov is seeking a talented and motivated professional to join our Legal Team as a Contracts Manager
Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Commercial and Employment, you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and supporting internal teams in achieving their business goals
This is a collaborative, fast-paced role with opportunities for growth and meaningful impact on OpenGov’s mission to power more effective and accountable government
Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS subscription and professional services agreements with public sector customers across the United States
Partner closely with the Sales, Revenue Operations, and Security teams to ensure smooth and timely deal execution
Help ensure compliance with applicable procurement rules and develop a growing understanding of government contracting
Vendor, Partner, and Other Commercial Agreements
Review and negotiate vendor, partner, and other third-party contracts, with a focus on balancing risk and business efficiency
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure contract terms align with internal policies and operational needs
Provide timely and practical contractual advice to internal teams on a wide variety of matters, including contract interpretation and business risk
Serve as a trusted partner to cross-functional teams and foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders
Contribute to ongoing improvements to the Legal Team workflows, templates, and playbooks to support scalable, efficient legal operations
Maintain and help organize contract records, approvals, and deal documentation
