Company mission

To help finance teams build healthier businesses.

Role

Who you are

  • Minimum 8 years experience in Product Management, Product Operations, Management Consulting, Business Operations and/or Strategy & Ops roles (ideally a mix of these and more!), with at least 4 years in fast-growth startup environments
  • Minimum 4 years experience managing individuals and/or managers in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Highly strategic thinker with lots of reps setting ambitious and well-defined team goals (using OKRs, SMART goals, etc) and then delivering on them successfully
  • Exposure to product environments that include real-world operations such as 24/7 customer support, global supply chains, or highly integrated third-party operating partners
  • Analytically rigorous and deeply curious about the data of the companies you’ve worked at, in ways that have driven actionable insights and product roadmap updates
  • High level of financial literacy - able to understand the P&L drivers of a given product and make decisions that create win-wins for customers and Ramp’s bottom line
  • Strong cross-functional background partnering with support, sales, product, engineering, design and operations teams - you can see a problem from all sides and are not afraid to present a compelling case for change to senior leadership
  • Deep experience hiring, coaching, growing and developing talent
  • Ability to execute in ambiguous, undefined spaces
  • Strong curiosity, and the investigative and critical thinking skills needed to get to the root cause of your questions

Desirable

  • Direct operations or general management experience (leading an operating team or a P&L)
  • Data analytics experience (SQL, Looker Studio, Python)

What the job involves

  • As a Group Product Operations Manager focused on our core Spend Management products, you will manage a small team and be responsible for delivering exemplary experiences to the large and growing set of businesses that manage their expenses on Ramp
  • You will leverage data to identify opportunities for our users, build out automation, and define and track metrics that help evaluate customer experience success.
  • You’ll work both upstream with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to represent the voice of the customer and shape product decisions, as well as downstream with customer facing teams and key operational partners and vendors to ensure Ramp is equipped to scale rapidly.
  • You will coach, empower and develop talented members of our product operations team and build a curious, empathetic and driven team culture
  • Create high-leverage product analytics tracking and data analysis to surface quantitative opportunities for improving performance, quality, and intuitiveness of your product group
  • Identify opportunities to automate, optimize, and refine processes to help Ramp scale operationally as we continue to expand the scope of our products and the size of our customer base
  • Become the foremost expert on the customer’s lived experience for your product set, and work to connect the daily experience of Ramp’s customer-facing teams with the product and engineering teams to help evolve the product roadmap and achieve fast resolution of product bugs and issues
  • Coach and develop direct reports and other ProductOps team members to increase their influence and impact across their engineering/product, customer-facing, and leadership partners
  • Partner with senior software engineers, product managers, designers and data analysts to define or evolve the rituals, decision making, metrics and tooling for the team
  • Lead several product operators across Spend Platform, Travel, Admin and Employee Experience
  • Work directly Product Operations and Product leadership to refine the product operations team’s vision and mandate as Ramp continues to scale

Our take

Ramp provides companies with a dual offering of corporate cards and a spending management dashboard. The dashboard allows companies to oversee their costs, automate manual accounting practices, reimburse out-of-pocket spending, and earn cashback on financial outlays.

Founded in 2019 and coming out of stealth in 2020, the company has already reached a valuation of a whopping $8.1 billion in early 2022. Its clients include several big-name companies including fast-growth health tech startup Ro, Planned Parenthood, and Truebill. 90% of its customers have made the switch from legacy players such as Expensify and Concur, showing that Ramp provides real customer value.

The team that built Ramp is the same one that launched the automated price tracking company Paribus before selling it to Capital One. It is now focused on scoping out more M&A opportunities and boosting its headcount to support investing in its software and going into new verticals.
