Who you are
- This internship is ideal for students interested in large-scale systems, cloud architecture, and IoT applications in robotics
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, C++ or any major language
- Enthusiasm for robotics, IoT systems, and cloud infrastructure
- Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced startup environment
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or container orchestration (Docker) and basic understanding of networking concepts
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in an agile team environment
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Or recently graduated
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
- The employee routinely is required to sit; stand, walk; talk and hear; use hands to keyboard
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift 20 lbs

- Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or Prometheus/Grafana

What the job involves
- As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Intern, you will help design, deploy, and optimize the cloud systems that power Bear Robotics’ growing fleet of service robots
- You’ll work closely with software, DevOps, and robotics teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure cloud services that connect our robots to the real world
- Assist in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure that supports real-time robot operations and telemetry
- Work with tools like GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform to deploy and monitor microservices
- Help monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with software and robotics engineers to integrate cloud APIs with robot software systems
- Support efforts to ensure data security, compliance, and resilience across cloud environments
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and system documentation

Our take
Many restaurants are struggling to keep up with service demands due to a lack of staff and rising costs. Traditional staffing methods are no longer enough to handle the fast pace and high expectations, creating a need for new, tech-driven solutions.
To solve this, Bear Robotics created AI-powered server robots called Servi. These robots move around the restaurant, delivering food and drinks to customers, reducing the workload on human staff. By handling routine tasks, they free up employees to focus on more important duties, improving services.
Servi robots have been successfully used in restaurants in the US, South Korea, and Japan, showing their growing importance in the industry. Bear Robotics has seen good funding which allowed it to improve its robotics technology and explore new uses beyond its current models. In 2025, LG acquired a majority stake in the company, effectively incorporating it as a subsidiary.
