Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, PHR, or SHRM-CP preferred
- 2+ years of experience administering payroll, time-card tracking, FLSA/PFL/ACA payroll regulations for exempt and non-exempt employees by state
- Extraordinary organization skills with meticulous attention to payroll processing detail while ensuring security of files and other confidential communications
- Ability to collect and manage qualitative and quantitative data; experience creating reports with key content presented effectively
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); other software platforms such as ADP or other HRIS systems preferred
- Flexible workstyle with ability to adjust priorities, multitask, and manage time appropriately in a dynamic environment; team-oriented support focused while also demonstrating initiative and independence
- Bilingual a plus but not required
- Superb communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal and public speaking) able to communicate in a timely and appropriate fashion with a professional and compassionate approach
- Able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time; frequent standing and bending is required for filing
- Able to work some early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of additional language(s) a plus
What the job involves
- We are seeking an energetic, people-oriented Payroll Temp for our highly collaborative office
- The Payroll Temp supports payroll and taxes, state registration, compliance and other functions as related to payroll
- You will be developing and maintaining effective and efficient payroll administration and procedures
- Provides accurate and meaningful communication with all levels of the organization as it relates to the area of Payroll related topics
- Administer bi-weekly payroll processing using HRIS system (ADP WFN)
- Collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, preparing and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records
- Processes and manages payroll, billing, changes, verification
- Managing direct deposits, benefits withholding, payroll deductions, garnishments and levies, new hire reports
- Tracking paid leave, vacation and sick and reporting
- Complete offboarding as it relates to payroll and final check processing in some states
- Tracking all regular and ad hoc deductions, changes and adjustments; responds to payroll inquiries from staff and vendors
- Monitor and ensure accurate completion of time-cards weekly, create and distribute monthly attendance reports to management, evaluate and escalate trends or problems regarding attendance, address all leave-of-absence requests (medical, personal, workers’ compensation, disability, FMLA, PFL or unpaid leave) and execute, monitor and track all corresponding paperwork

CEO Larry Lui founded the company after having difficulty finding Chinese ingredients in local stores when he moved to the U.S.
Since its launch in 2015, Weee caters to approximately 300,000 households in the U.S and fulfils thousands of orders a day. Originally targeting Asian consumers, the company now brands itself as an “ethnic e-grocer” in a move to attract the United States' 60 million Hispanic consumers as well. This diversification is in response to growing competition in the Asian grocery space from the likes of e-grocers Chowbus and Umamicart and retail chains H Mart and 99 Ranch Market.
The ethnic grocery market is expected to reach more than $460 billion by 2030. Weee plan to grow into this market by launching its service in over 30 additional North American cities over the next three years, expanding into the Canadian market as well. Further, 2022 funding will be used to tap into new cultural cuisines and scale development in AI and warehouse automation.
