Who you are

BSCS or equivalent required, MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred
8+ years of industry experience developing large scale web based enterprise applications
Expertise in Typescript and Javascript
Expertise in Nginx and Kong Gateway setup and configuration
Experience with NodeJS, Express
Strong experience in scripting languages such as Python (bonus points for Lua)
Experience with strongly-typed compiled languages such as Go / Swift / Java
Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL
Proficiency with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, or Memcached
Experience with containerization and container orchestration such as Docker, Kubernetes
Experience with package management such as Helm, NPM, dpkg
Experience with Jenkins, CircleCI, or Travis CI to develop and troubleshoot CICD pipelines
Experience building highly performant microservices
Experience with RESTful API design, HTTP concepts, API security
Experience with unit testing tools like Jest, Jasmine
Knowledge of secure web development practices
Working knowledge of git or other version control tools

Experience with authentication standards (OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, etc.)

What the job involves

As a member of the API Gateway team, you will collaborate with backend service teams and the frontend team to expand Netskope’s new REST API platform
Your work will span the frontend and the web application backend, and you will work closely with our backend service teams on Machine Learning, Threat, DLP, IaaS, APIs and other cutting edge technologies as we continue to expand the gateway and its capabilities
Designing and developing our highly scalable, high-volume, low-latency, multi-tenant API gateway
Participating in developing our next-generation full stack solutions while investigating alternative technologies
Taking ownership of projects and collaborating with cross-functional product management, development and quality assurance teams in a fast paced environment
Working with DevOps and Technical Support teams to investigate and resolve critical customer defects
Keeping abreast of the latest technologies and web methodologies, and helping to identify those that should be integrated into our products and development efforts in the future
