Who you are
- We’re looking for a creative, innovative, and customer-obsessed Senior Product Designer to join Float!
- You’ve got the experience. We’re looking for 7+ years of Product Design experience, preferably in B2B SaaS, early to mid-stage startup environments. You understand modern, front-end engineering tools and practices, and how they work together to deliver a great experience
- You sweat the details. You’re extremely technically proficient in Figma. You build clean, reusable components based on existing constraints and auto-layout everything
- You’re comfortable with ambiguity. You’re scrappy and enjoy finding creative ways to work through obstacles. You’ve taken ownership of the product experience before and have outstanding time management skills
- You’re a strategic thinker. You can create a vision, and you know how to execute it. You leverage quantitative and qualitative data to analyze your work and consistently improve products
- You are an excellent cross-functional communicator. You effortlessly connect with any team in an org, especially Engineering. You possess astute influencing skills, and you have the ability to bring multiple stakeholders together and problem-solve between various groups. You are a skilled listener who is able to understand and synthesize diverse perspectives and opinions
- You’ve got an understanding of the market. You’ve worked with accounting/finance related products, or have worked closely with finance leaders. You’re commercially focused with an understanding of the market and the business we’re in. You’re no stranger to an ROI mindset
- You’re customer obsessed. You're all about building relationships, understanding customer needs, and advocating for them passionately. You care about the details that matter to them
- You’re an owner. You take complete ownership and accountability of delivery and outcomes. You translate business requirements into technical specifications, overseeing the development process, and ensuring successful deployment. You are ready and willing to make tough decisions to achieve broader business goals and outcomes

What the job involves
- In this role, you’ll be responsible for building a seamless Corporate Spending experience, and creating and capturing value by accelerating the adoption and usage of our existing products
- Work closely with our Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Sales teams to take products from broad concepts through implementation and launch
- Partner with our customers to gain a deep understanding of their experiences and needs, identifying and filling product gaps while generating new ideas that empower them and drive growth. Discover additional methods to analyze customer feedback and measure product outcomes
- Own the look, feel, and experience of our user-facing application, design flows, and experiences, ensuring they’re simple and elegant
- Ruthlessly prioritize and scope activities based on business and customer impact, focusing on features that move the needle. Communicate the ‘why’ behind the product roadmap, prioritization, and sequencing
- Develop and deliver mock-ups, prototypes, and detailed specifications to communicate design and interaction
- Take broad, conceptual ideas and transform them into useful and valuable experiences for our customers
Our take
Traditional finance and internal expense processes are inefficient for companies. Spending on personal credit cards and filing receipts for reimbursement is a convoluted and complicated business practise. There needs to be a digital alternative to the historically laborious process of managing employee expenses.
Float is a fintech solution, built to simplify the inefficient internal expense processes. Rather than following the traditional method of spending on personal/corporate cards, filing expenses, and waiting for reimbursement - Float works by utilising technology that enables managers to allocate funds and approve expenses before purchases are made. The company also supports companies operating with remote workforces.
As the business world moves to become more international, companies will look to make their business spending as simple as possible. Float aims to develop its technology and cater to the challenge of company spending. It's $50 million C in credit financing will go some way to achieving its aims, all whilst expanding its business significantly.
