What the job involves
- We are looking for a Software Engineer to join Homebase’s engineering team
- You'll be working to help maintain, build, and enhance our core Scheduling product
- You'll play a pivotal role in advancing Homebase’s core scheduling capabilities, improving performance, and delivering an unparalleled customer experience
- Design and develop scalable software solutions that align with Homebase’s mission of helping small businesses and building unstoppable teams
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define and implement new features
- Work on major initiatives such as chatbot agent integration, admin tool development, scheduling enhancements, and AI-driven automation
- Maintain high-quality coding standards through code reviews and testing
- Actively participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Troubleshoot technical challenges and contribute to performance optimizations

Homebase provide employees and businesses with time tracking applications, with a range of other HR functionality built in. Homebase automates the process of managing employee scheduling, and also helps companies improve internal communications.
The company contributes to the reduction of paperwork in an office by turning an array of devices into time clocks that track hours and overtime, while also providing payroll support. This makes it easier for companies to remain in sync, running a more efficient operation as a result.
Given that Homebase's customer base of small businesses is not able to pay a lot for its product, scale is the key driver in the company's future success.
