FP&A Compute Lead, Mistral AI

• 5+ years of experience in areas such as strategic finance, private equity, growth equity, venture capital, consulting, or investment banking, with a preference for experience in cloud infrastructure or technology
• MSc or MBA in finance, economics, or business
• Strong analytical skills, capable of transforming data into insightful conclusions and creating detailed financial models
• Outstanding problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address complex financial issues
• Demonstrated history of collaborating with technical teams to promote financial optimization efforts
• Comfortable working across different functions and skilled at explaining complex financial concepts to those without a finance background
• Enthusiastic about thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adept at adapting to change

• Mistral AI is on the lookout for a FP&A Compute Lead to be a key partner to our compute engineering team, providing insights to optimize our infrastructure resources while planning for future infrastructure needs
• You will be instrumental to our long-term compute strategy by developing financial models for strategic investment areas
• In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Head of FP&A and collaborate closely with our engineering teams, offering financial expertise and guidance to optimize our capacity investments and drive strategic decision-making
• Create and manage long-term capacity forecasts and scenario planning for infrastructure development over periods exceeding two years
• Take the lead in FP&A for initiatives related to long-term capacity
• Perform return on investment analysis for new platforms and investments aimed at optimization
• Manage financial planning and analysis for expenditures related to GPUs, including CPU compute and storage
• Lead initiatives aimed at optimizing the efficiency of cloud resources
• Create forecasting models and analyze factors influencing costs associated with GPU usage
• Maintain deep expertise on CSP contract terms, pricing structures, and potential optimization opportunities
• Work closely with Legal and Compute Engineering teams to ensure proper implementation and adherence to contracts
