What the job involves
- We are looking for an Operations Officer to join our BUX team based in Amsterdam
- In this role, you will provide key support to the Operations team on daily operational tasks and contribute to a wide variety of development projects
- Within our team of 6, you will be trained to gain a strong fundamental understanding of the financial industry, saving products, concepts and processes in a broad sense
- Monitor and process corporate actions such as dividends, stock splits, etc
- Manage and process internal payments and accounts
- Reconcile (align) trades, positions and cash balances
- Investigate and fix trade, position and cash breaks
- Provide trade support to the first line of defence
- Communicate and collaborate with cash, clearing and trading partners
- Communicate and collaborate with internal teams such as engineering, business intelligence, finance and customer support
- Design new processes and reporting procedures for the savings proposition
- Refine or automate daily operational processes

While the application has not reached the omnipresent level of market leaders like Robinhood, BUX is the first and only business to have built a full-stack system of its own, giving it an ability to adapt and scale in a way competitors cannot. Keeping up with the evolving investment space, the company launched BUX Crypto in 2022, granting its thousands of users access to trading cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.
Also in 2022, the company purchased the retail arm of neobroker Ninety Nine, with all its existing retail customers moving over to BUX. This has significantly bolstered its Spanish marketshare, as it moves ahead with a strategy to double down on its flagship application and help clients build long-term wealth moving into the future. The sale of BUX's Cyprus arm to Coinbase in 2024 will allow BUX to hone in on market presence and product capabilities.
