YugabyteDB Support Engineer, Yugabyte

• This role is ideal for a tech-savvy individual with a passion for problem-solving and a deep understanding of distributed databases and Unix-like systems
• You have a strong background in databases, with a preference for distributed databases like YugabyteDB, CockroachDB, or Apache Cassandra
• You possess solid experience as a System Administrator for Unix/Linux environments
• Experience in a customer-facing technical support role
• Proficiency with SQL and database administration concepts
• Strong sysadmin skills in Unix/Linux, including shell scripting (Bash, Python)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

• As a YugabyteDB Support Engineer, you will be a trusted technical advisor to our customers, guiding them to success with our database
• You will be a crucial part of our global support team, providing exceptional service to our enterprise clients
• Work directly with enterprise customers to troubleshoot, replicate, and resolve complex technical issues
• Become a technical expert in YugabyteDB, its architecture, and its ecosystem
• Provide an exceptional customer experience through timely and effective communication
• Act as a customer advocate, collaborating with our engineering and product teams to resolve bugs and enhance the product
• Develop and contribute to our internal and external knowledge base, including documentation and best practice guides
• Participate in a follow-the-sun, on-call rotation to provide support for critical customer issues
• Manage and prioritize a queue of support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction
• Administer and troubleshoot Unix/Linux environments as they relate to YugabyteDB deployments
