Who you are
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Previous line management and mentoring experience
- Software development processes
- PHP7/8, PHP Frameworks (e.g. Symfony)
- RESTful API development and consumption
- Docker, Kubernetes, and containerisation in general
- API Platform framework
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure, preferably AWS

- Experience managing teams across time zones and countries
- CMS plugin and theme development (WordPress, Drupal, etc.)
- Building and Documenting Internal and Public APIs

What the job involves
- Reporting to the Head of Development, you will be responsible for leading the PHP discipline within Immediate
- You will line manage developers, working in cross-functional teams, to develop and maintain features for our range of brands both in the UK, and Poland
- You will support, mentor and help the developers in their careers, as well as provide domain expertise in PHP
- You will be relied on to help evolve technical solutions, solve problems, and set and ensure PHP best practices are being adhered to
- Line manage PHP developers across delivery teams, looking after their wellbeing and development
- Lead and be a source of innovation within the PHP discipline, helping to evolve solutions, and provide technical support to teams/developers and delivery
- Represent the PHP discipline both inside, and outside Immediate
- Working with the other discipline Leads, and the Head of Development, to define, refine and prioritise technical initiatives to be delivered
- Contribute towards the product roadmap
- Adapt quickly to changing environments, concepts, and emerging technologies to assist in the future roadmap of our products and consumer experiences
- Staying abreast of the latest developments within PHP
- Own, promote and uphold PHP standards and best practices
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for the craftsmanship and engineering aspects of software development
- Have an active role in mentoring and coaching other developers
- Recruitment of new PHP developers
- Contribute to processes, documentation, and best practices
