Role
Who you are
- You will often speak with developers who need assistance understanding if their applications work well and if not, what caused the issue. This requires a deep technical background and a strong motivation to help and learn
- Initial work experience in a technical role e.g. developer
- Strong technical skills that allow you to read, write and debug code (Javascript/Node.js preferred)
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTTP, REST, Chrome DevTools)
- Basic understanding of SDLC, CI/CD practices, source control (git)
- Empathy: you enjoy working with customers and solving their problems
- Excellent written English skills
- Ability to be autonomous and self-motivated in a remote work environment, while you also enjoy getting to know your colleagues and helping others

What the job involves
- We're looking for a Junior Software Developer in Support to help developers who rely on Checkly to ensure the stability of their web apps and APIs for their end-users. We care a lot about our customers and our interaction with them. You will be our second Software Developer in Support and the first one in the Americas, and will report to Giovanni Rago, Checkly’s Head of Customer Solutions
- You will be responsible for addressing our end-users' complex problems. In detail you will:
- Advise customers how to solve complex technical challenges, diving deep into code
- Be the first point of contact for customer requests
- Investigate and reproduce issues
- Work closely with the product and engineering teams to solve customer problems and look for ways to improve Checkly
- Contribute to and shape support processes going forward
Our take
DevOps introduced more automation to the software development process and lifecycle, allowing new applications to be on the market at a quicker pace. But with progress comes changes and new requirements for developing, testing, and deploying applications, thus requiring transformation for modern monitoring systems.
Checkly is an active monitoring platform designed for developers. The API is programmable, flexible, and works well with JavaScript. Checkly allows cross-functional DevOps and engineering teams to run deep API monitoring and Javascript-powered flexible frontend tests across 20+ global data center locations.
The transaction monitoring tool makes it easy to regularly test interactions with front-end websites without having to actually write any code. Pricing for its services starts at $7 per month for individual developers, with plans for small teams starting at $29 per month. Looking ahead, funding will be used to expand Checkly’s engineering team and build out its platform.
