Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will have a strong creative eye and be at the forefront of social trends and innovation as well as the ability to develop channel-by-channel goals and effectively measure success
- 3-5 years experience working in social media management and content development within the beauty industry or related sectors
- Strong communication written and verbal skills and attention to detail, particularly in regards to consumer-facing content
- A customer-first mindset, with a passion for creating memorable content moments; willingness to challenge "what's expected" when it comes to the brand content landscape
- Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
- Strong understanding of social media KPIs and social media analytical reporting platforms
- Demonstrated ability to work across organizational teams, building cross-functional relationships and advocating for brand outcomes
- Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas
- Highly proactive, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners to make things happen with limited resources
- Must have experience with Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Capcut or other video editing software, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Google Docs/Sheets
What the job involves
- Glossier is looking for a creative, community-first social media expert to support the development of ownable, best-in-class social strategy and social marketing campaigns
- This person will support the social team, reporting to the Senior Social Media Manager, and will be responsible for audience and engagement growth across all owned channels to drive brand awareness and advocacy
- This will include the daily management of channel operations (content planning, calendar management, caption copywriting, analytical reporting) along with executing the social strategy for all brand launches, in collaboration with cross-functional partners
- You will play a key role in driving engagement, gathering feedback, and creating strategies to grow and strengthen our community
- Cross-channel calendar management and execution with the ability to strategically plan engaging content and push innovation across hero channels
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on briefing opportunities to strategically feature our community across owned social
- Ad hoc content, including the creation of graphics, reels, video content on Tik Tok, Instagram Stories, and Instagram, as needed
- Develop monthly Social Dashboard with active insights to ensure we are learning and driving results
- Monitor social SEO and track platform performance metrics by compiling weekly, monthly, and quarterly social media reports
- Stay on top of social media trends and identify moments for Glosser to tap in
- Build and maintain the brand's online community by fostering meaningful interactions, monitoring social media sentiment and trends, and responding promptly to inquiries, comments, and feedback with excellent customer service skills
- Willingness to work from HQ at least 3 days per week to support the team

Weiss, a former stylist and beauty writer, started Glossier as an offshoot of her beauty blog 'Into the Gloss' in 2014. Early on, she got her products into the makeup cabinets of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Karlie Kloss. Glossier shook up the beauty business by selling items online only in an industry that has always prioritized in-person sales.
Glossier focuses on minimalist products designed with customers' real beauty routines in mind. Its minimalist approach marks a stark difference from traditional beauty brands, and the company has developed a cult-like following as a beauty brand that emphasises communication with its customers, even involving them in the creation of its products.
Because of this, the company experienced impressive growth, marked by the opening of flagship brick-and-mortar stores. It then expanded further with the launch of its products in Space NK stores across the UK and Ireland. However, its situation seems to have taken a turn. The company is now reducing staff and closing down 9 out of 12 stores as it undertakes a structural overhaul.
