What the job involves
- The Comms Core team, part of the Transactional Communications area, is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to lead the development of tools and systems that power user communications
- This role will focus on building robust, reliable, and scalable platforms that enable Affirm to design, create, and deliver communications to users in the most seamless and efficient way possible
- The Transactional Communications teams are fully based in Europe and own the end-to-end communications experience — from template creation to ensuring successful message delivery to users
- Lead, mentor, and grow an engineering team responsible for designing and developing the communication platform at Affirm for all channels (sms, email, push, physical)
- Mentor engineers on the team to help improve their designs, code quality, and testing
- Own availability, reliability, and performance of your team’s systems
- Partner with product managers to design and build best-in-class systems and processes for Comms Platform
- Partner with a diverse set of engineering teams who use Comms platform to keep in touch with customers throughout the entire lifecycle of a loan at Affirm
- Build relationships and engage with senior management in the organization
- On-Call Rotation - There would be an on-call rotation for this role as a requirement
