Role
Who you are
- Proven experience as a NodeJS Developer or similar role
- Strong proficiency in NodeJS and related frameworks
- Knowledge or some experience in PHP and Typescript would be beneficial
- Good understanding of database systems, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and development workflows
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Passion for learning and staying up to date with industry trends and technologies
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is a plus
What the job involves
- With Intelligence is looking for Backend Leads to join our talented and collaborative engineering team
- As a Technical Backend Lead, you'd be spending your time mastering a broad array of our backend services, in order to coordinate and assist as multiple BE developers collaborate on specific services to push out features across the stack
- There will also be regular opportunity to roll up your sleeves and deliver functionality yourself
- You will work in a cross-functional team (React, PHP, Node, Python developers) to deliver high-quality software solutions
- You'll also regularly be 'stepping back' from the codebase and measuring and influencing service health, code quality, roadmap and debt-paydown priorities
- In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and drive technical decisions, influence the technical roadmap, and contribute to the growth and success of the backend team
- You will be working in an agile environment, using modern backend technologies and frameworks
- Develop and maintain backend services using NodeJS and related frameworks (preferably Express and/or NestJS)
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
- Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices and coding standards
- Optimize application performance and ensure scalability of backend systems
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure optimal functionality
- Work closely with product managers and designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Keep up to date with industry trends and technologies in NodeJS development
