Role
Who you are
- PhD in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field with 5years of related work experience, Master’s degree with 6 years of related work experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related work experience
- Familiarity of ACR (Automatic Content Recognition) techniques and their applications in media is a plus
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical analysis and hypothesis testing
- Understanding of the TV and media landscape, including viewership trends, audience measurement methodologies and advertising metrics. Familiarity with markets like US, UK, Canada, Australia and Germany is a plus
- Ability to conduct independent research and apply innovative solutions to complex data challenges
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present complex data findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with data visualization for presenting insights to the various stakeholders
- Development experience in the following programming languages: Python, Scala, SQL
- Experience working with Redis, MongoDB, ElasticCache, Spark, MapReduce, Vertica
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Keras, Pandas
What the job involves
- As a Senior Data Scientist at Nexxen, you’ll be at the forefront of this evolution
- You will lead efforts to deliver high-Quality viewership data, enabling advertisers to optimize campaigns across both Linear TV and OTT
- Beyond just Crunching numbers, you’ll design and enhance a smart TV data collection and reporting system that powers some of The most cutting-edge advertising technologies today
- Lead design efforts to maintain and advance Nexxen’s existing Smart TV ACR data collection, quality assurance and reporting infrastructure
- This role is an opportunity to influence key architectural Decisions, develop scalable solutions, and collaborate with a cross-functional team on a global stage
- Analyze and propose new methodologies to ensure accurate identification and classification of media content
- Develop real-time (near real-time) solutions to monitor various system performance metrics to ensure data quality
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product as well as other Data Science teams to understand product requirements and create optimal strategies/scalable architectures which can support future potential enhancements
- Ensure high standards of data quality by implementing rigorous testing and validations processes for various data sets
- Research and develop new methodologies to continuously improve the quality and usability of the Smart TV viewership data
- Interacts with the leadership team to influence product direction
- Recruiting and training junior data scientists
- Provide constant feedback to employees, conduct performance evaluations, and design employees’ growth plans
- Integrate existing Nexxen technology with the technology of newly acquired companies
- Write and publish research papers on Nexxen’s behalf
- Write patents on Nexxen’s behalf
- Advise upper management on validity and value of potential data acquisition contracts and partnerships, and ensure that said partnerships are providing data of adequate quality, and alert upper management in cases where such contracts do not merit renewal
- Interacts with external clients as a representative for Data Science team
- Help Nexxen’s analysts understand the best ways to utilize the products based on their capabilities and strengths relative to our competitors
- Identify new opportunities for advanced analytics and machine learning and conceptualize/develop projects to support their advancement

Video has been an invaluable marketing tool for businesses since the beginning of TV advertisement, but modern technology has dramatically changed how such content is consumed. On-demand omnichannel streaming services and CTV has provided unique opportunities for advertisers to develop their audience engagement strategies, but without the appropriate technology platform, this can be difficult to navigate.
Nexxen provides an end-to-end self-service CTV & video marketing platform, helping to provide businesses with the appropriate engagement tools to future-proof their video marketing. The platform includes AI-driven analytic tools based on audience data, marketplaces for the self-serving of media for campaigns, in addition to analytic tools to assess the success of campaigns in real-time.
Whilst several other start-ups provide either video engagement tools or self-serve video marketing marketplaces, Nexxen has taken the smart angle of combining both into a single platform, whilst specializing in futureproofing companies for the rise in CTV engagement demands. The company aims to save clients money, time, and operational complexity by unifying where they operate their video advertisement campaigns into a single platform.
