Who you are
- You’re an investigator at heart who’s looking to make a bigger impact on the security industry
- There isn’t an alert under the sun that you couldn’t respond to across endpoint, network, SaaS apps, and cloud providers
- You’ve honed a keen sense for spotting the difference between legitimate users and bad guys because you’ve seen them in action. Hundreds of times.
- You’re everyone’s go-to person for training and the escalation point when an incident gets really hairy
- But you’re not just unpacking shellcode out of some nested PowerShell to find bad guys, you’re able to roll up your sleeves and write some code to impact your detection or automation pipeline and scale your knowledge for others
- Your goal is to never solve the same investigation twice without machines taking the wheel
- Customer calls don’t scare you, and you’re comfortable talking technical with an industry peer and supporting them during their early journey with Prophet Security
- Ultimately you’re insatiably curious, a masterful security practitioner, and are looking to put your stamp on the next generation of security operations powered by AI

- Experience operating in large enterprise, DFIR, or Managed Detection and Response environments as a senior security practitioner
- Proficiency investigating and responding to threats across all major domains from Endpoint, Network, SaaS Apps, and Cloud Providers
- Coding competency at script kiddie level or better (GoLang knowledge is a plus!)
- Strong verbal and written communications and a desire to engage with our customers
- An unwavering emphasis on investigation at the highest level of quality
- An insatiable curiosity with a high attention to detail
What the job involves
- We are looking for a talented Security Operations Engineer to be an integral stakeholder in expanding and developing the investigative and reasoning capabilities of Prophet AI
- You’ll use your mastery of investigations to steer Prophet AI’s analysis capability and be leading the charge on maximizing the quality and accuracy of the investigations we deliver to customers
- You’ll be working alongside engineering team members and other security practitioners to bring SOC operations into a new era
- If you feel like security operations haven't changed in the past decade, you’re not alone. The security perimeter is getting larger beyond just corporate laptops to include SaaS applications, data warehouses, and multi-cloud environments.
- On top of that, threat actors are achieving their objectives faster by deploying ransomware or stealing data in hours rather than days, and yet there’s no better solution to supercharge analysts to investigate and respond to threats at machine speed rather than drowning in low signal alerts as a human
- We believe that it’s time for a paradigm shift. With the advent of LLMs, Prophet Security intends to be the force multiplier for security teams by empowering humans to operate at infinite capacity and investigate and eradicate threats in minutes rather than hours

Our take
Many security teams struggle to keep pace with the evolution of the cyberthreat landscape, putting data and operations at risk. Part of the problem is in the traditional way threats are reported and addressed, which leaves room for critical alerts to fall through the cracks or be investigated too late.
Prophet Security hopes to help combat this, with an AI assistant for security analysts. The basic premise is that Prophet transforms hard-to-understand alerts into clear explanations with evidence included, all delivered in plain English. It also prioritises critical alerts and provides analysts with explicit next steps. With this, security teams can increase efficiency and invest their time where it is most needed.
By automating much of the alert-response process, Prophet Security positions itself as a vital tool for security teams seeking to become more robust. It has raised substantial funds that will support it in its early business development, having emerged from stealth in 2024.
