Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist to join our Data Platform Team
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Experience: proven experience in BI, with expertise in tools like Looker or Zoho Analytics
- Technical Skills: experience with SQL/NoSQL, data modeling, ETL processes, and scripting languages (e.g., Python)
- Governance Knowledge: understanding of data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR) and governance frameworks
- Soft Skills: strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication
- Preferred: experience with cloud platforms (AWS), advanced analytics, AI integration, and regulated environments. Relevant certifications are advantageous
What the job involves
- You will collaborate with digital transformation teams (data, automation, and Gen-AI) to create and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools
- Your work will ensure access to high-quality data, metrics, and KPIs while adhering to security and compliance standards
- Dashboard Development: design and manage interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools
- Data Visualization: create compelling visualizations to communicate trends and insights effectively
- Collaboration: work with multidisciplinary teams to understand data needs and deliver BI solutions
- Data Quality: ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability for decision-making
- Define KPIs: identify and track key performance indicators aligned with business objectives
- Governance & Compliance: ensure BI solutions meet governance, security, and regulatory standards
- Data Models: optimize models and schemas for performance and scalability
- Stay Updated: continuously improve BI capabilities by adopting new tools and best practices
- Documentation: maintain detailed documentation of BI processes and solutions
- Compliance Training: complete mandatory company-wide and role-specific training
Our take
Pathologists are the core of diagnostics, but face increasing pressure as diagnostic complexity increases and the number of pathologists is in decline. This systemic strain means turnaround times for diagnoses are longer, and the chance of diagnostic error is higher. Deciphex is looking to address this with a regulated non-clinical pathology platform.
Deciphex has institutional and headline support, has collaborated with AstraZeneca and Janssen, and participates in a research program with pharmaceutical company Charles River. Reports suggest the platform has seen impressive uptake in the preclinical sector, so in spite of being relatively young this specialist niche is in high demand.
This all means Deciphex is in a strong position to keep expanding out its suite of tools and platforms. Its latest round of funding will support expansion across the US, UK, EU, Canada, and Japan. The company is also looking to enhance its capabilities, strengthen existing partnerships and broaden the type of customer it serves.
