Role
Who you are
- 4+ years of experience as an Account Manager, Customer Success Manager, or similar role in customer-facing positions, with exposure to consumer lending, fintech, or financial services
- Understanding of consumer lending dynamics including credit risk management, customer acquisition, and regulatory considerations for non-bank lenders
- Experience with account management and growth initiatives, with some exposure to business development or sales activities
- Strong relationship-building skills with ability to establish trust with fintech and issuer stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with ability to use data to identify opportunities and support decision-making
- Collaborative approach with ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
- Growth-oriented mindset with interest in learning business development skills and contributing to new business acquisition
What the job involves
- As a Strategic Account Manager (IC3) at Nova Credit, you'll lead the complete lifecycle success of key strategic enterprise customers. You'll develop new business opportunities while growing and deepening relationships with our Consumer Lending clients—including leading fintechs, credit card issuers and other agile consumer lenders across North America
- Taking a highly consultative approach, you'll build deep, trust-based relationships across your portfolio. We're seeking a seasoned individual contributor who can own and accelerate rapid revenue growth through new logo acquisition and expansion within existing customer accounts
- Reporting to our Head of Consumer Lending
- WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH, YOU'LL:
- Understand Nova Credit's value proposition specifically for consumer lenders, business model, and products
- Meet your consumer lending customers and begin developing account plans focused on growth and optimization strategies
- Learn about the consumer lending market landscape and identify potential new business opportunities
- WITHIN THE FIRST QUARTER, YOU'LL:
- Develop proficiency with Credit Passport and Cash Atlas products, focusing on consumer lending use cases and optimization opportunities
- Establish relationships and conduct regular business reviews with key stakeholders at fintech and issuer organizations
- Support business development efforts by conducting market research and assisting with prospect qualification
- Handle customer issues and work cross-functionally to resolve technical and business challenges
- Use data analytics to understand customer usage patterns and identify optimization opportunities
- WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR, YOU'LL:
- Deliver revenue growth targets through account expansion and support of new business development initiatives
- Identify and qualify expansion opportunities including up-sells and cross-sells tailored to consumer lenders
- Contribute to new business development by supporting prospect meetings and helping advance opportunities through the sales cycle
- Provide customer feedback to inform product roadmap priorities for consumer lending use cases
- Develop expertise in consumer lending market dynamics and competitive landscape
Our take
For the 15 million new immigrants who arrive in the US each year, it’s crucial to have a working credit history. Without this, they’ll be unable to rent an apartment, apply for a credit card or in some cases even get a job. The issue is that their credit history won’t have travelled with them, so lenders in their new country won’t be able to verify their eligibility. Nova Credit's founders experienced this problem first-hand, as Esipov is a first-generation Russian immigrant.
Nova Credit imports financial histories to enable immigrants to set up lives in new countries, with their ‘Credit Passport’. This is a digital framework that connects an individual’s credit history information from one country to the country where they are currently residing.
Nova Credit is currently able to import credit history from over 20 countries. Since being accepted to Y Combinator in 2016, the company has raised considerable funding from major finance players such as HSBC. Nova Credit has grown its footprint significantly, covering more than 1 billion consumer credit profiles, and is using its funding to strengthen its platform's infrastructure, analytics and compliance.
