Role
Who you are
- Strong analytical ability
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills
- 2-6 years experience in similar roles
- Data visualisation and storytelling ability
- Ability to self organise and manage stakeholders
- Demonstration of impact/going above and beyond basic role requirements
- Python/R
- Understanding of stats and statistical modelling (measures of central tendency, understanding of variance and testing, some regression modelling)
- Mathematical background

What the job involves
- Due to continued and rapid growth we’re on the hunt for a Data Analyst to join our Growth and Strategic Finance Team in Shoreditch, London. You’ll be part of the team that helps pilot the rocket ship
- Your principal responsibility will be to make an impact and lead us to better decisions for the company and our customers
- Curating datasets, surfacing metrics, some statistical modelling, and deeper dive analysis that we expect to influence the direction of the team and the company
- Depending on the project you’re working on, you’ll doing the following:
- Helping us understand what’s driving our growth at a company level
- Helping us analyse how we’re generating costs and helping our teams come up with strategic plans to drive them down (this is very central to our Mission)
- Helping us develop better pricing strategies so that we can incentivise the right behaviour internally, and also encourage our growth

Our take
Wise started when the two founders realised they would be better off trading Estonian kroons for British pounds (and vice versa) between themselves rather than going through banks. That was back in 2011, and they've since grown Wise into one of Europe's most successful tech businesses, exchanging billions of currency every month.
Wise rapidly grew by solving a significant problem for customers, who lost too much money to banks when exchanging currency. Its attracted investment from some of the best investors in the world, from Andreesen Horowitz to Index Ventures and even Richard Branson.
While the market is crowded with new entrants (think Revolut and Monzo) and traditional banks trying to catch up, Wise is still staying one step ahead having recently opened a new hub in India and new payment features as well as reporting a rise in key metrics on higher volume and customer growth. This continued growth positions the company well for continued success in the future.
