Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a self-starting, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys working with numbers and code
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in a high growth environment
- Solid foundations in software engineering, programming languages and distributed systems
- Attention to details and a collaborative, pragmatic mindset
- Good communication skills to articulate technical solutions and business requirements
Desirable
- Experience with billing and payment platforms (ex: Stripe, Plaid, Dave)
- Experience with Typescript and its ecosystem
- Basic understanding of PostgreSQL, GraphQL and/or event-based architectures
What the job involves
- Dandy is hiring a Software Engineer to join our rapidly scaling technology organization
- This position will be responsible for building industry-defining products and a robust pipeline that manages Dandy’s revenue streams on a hyper-growth path
- You will sit at the core of Dandy’s business and collaborate cross-functionally with other brilliant engineers and ambitious business partners at Dandy
- Design and develop the full stack of Dandy’s pricing, billing and payments systems
- Collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers to meet the high bar for quality and user experience in a rapidly iterative environment
- Partner with the business teams such as Go-to-Market, Accounting, Business Operations to shape Dandy’s pricing and packaging strategies for market expansion and other monetization opportunities
- Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability and best practices. Advocate for improvements to product quality, security and performance through collaboration and code reviews
- Deliver product features in a large code base with both grace and speed
Our take
Dentistry, a $400B industry, has long relied on outdated practices. Dandy was created to modernize and simplify dental operations by integrating technology into every aspect of the dental practice. Its goal is to streamline workflows, making dental practices more efficient and easier to manage.
While other startups have tried to bring technology to the dental field, Dandy distinguishes itself by understanding the industry's complexity and respecting the way dentists operate. Rather than overwhelming practitioners with a complete overhaul, Dandy introduces new features gradually, such as digitizing dental labs for procedures like crowns and implants. It makes the dental experience seamless for both sides of the chair, and to date, more than 2 million people use a Dandy dental product daily.
Dandy aims to build a full operating system for dental practices, offering a "business-in-a-box" solution that allows dentists to focus on patient care while the platform handles administrative and operational tasks. While this vision has the potential to bring immense value to a field in need of innovation, the challenge lies in overcoming dentistry's resistance to change. Patience and persistence will be key as Dandy reshapes how dental professionals run their practices.
