Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
- 6+ months of telesales experience in a business-to-business environment
- Interest to grow & excel in Sales
- Strong problem identification and objection resolution ability
- Ability to engage customers and build strong relationships
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with high energy and drive to succeed
- Experience with customer relationship management software and knowledge of marketing automation software

What the job involves
- The Sales Development Representative position is responsible for qualifying new business by phone, email and social media
- Often the first point of contact with prospective customers, the Sales Development Representative has full responsibility for delivering a positive customer experience that will set the stage for continued engagement and growing interest in Monotype’s type, technology, and expertise
- This role offers the opportunity to get your foot in the door of a world-class, ever-growing Sales organization, perfect for someone looking to kick-start their Sales career
- Manage inbound sales requests received via web, email, and phone
- Outbound prospecting to build pipeline for Inside and Field Sales Teams
- Ensure efficient lead routing to appropriate sales teams
- Review, contact, and qualify marketing-generated leads
- Pass qualified opportunities to New Business Hunter team, based on established rules of engagement
- Generate sales by phone for defined new customer segments, from initial contact to signed agreement
- Focus on the value that Monotype brings to an organization by understanding the pain points that prospective customers are currently experiencing
- Work with sales managers and sales enablement to stay well versed in Monotype’s products
- Collaborate with sales managers and sales teams to refine sales strategies and approaches
- Maintain and update Salesforce.com to accurately track all relative customer data, business insights, and record of interactions
- Continuously develop knowledge and skills

Monotype is a giant in the typeface industry, with well over 100 years in the business. It owns the rights to over 10,000 fonts, including A-list players like Helvetica and Times New Roman. Whilst typeface creation might not seem to be the booming industry it once was, Monotype is carving out some interesting new development opportunities in the hopes of further growth.
As more major organizations go digital, and go global, they need to carry their house image across a growing number of diverse markets (and languages) and render the fonts in high definition. Monotype has been developing a strong reputation for designing multi-lingual brand identities - for example, for the city of Dubai - but also works with Google to bring hundreds of historically unrendered fonts online.
In this way, Monotype is smartly transitioning from a designer/developer of contemporary fonts to a facilitator helping brands to expand globally and into the digital space. With offerings in place to provide this service to fast-growing industries like gaming and online streaming, Monotype is hitching its wagon to hugely lucrative markets.
