Mechanical Design Intern, GrayMatter Robotics

• Currently pursuing or have a BS degree in mechanical engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience
• 1-2 years experience designing within SOLIDWORKS
• 1-2 years experience working with 3D Printers
• Must be able to support at least 20 hours onsite in Gardena, CA
• Experience with 3D solid modeling, analysis, and development of 2D manufacturing drawings
• Proven track record of strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and customers
• Ability to solve problems effectively in a collaborative environment
• Must meet export control requirements in the United States and maintain ongoing work authorization beginning at the time of hire through the entirety of employment

• As a Mechanical Design Intern you will join our Design Team to collaborate with our engineering team onsite in our Gardena, CA office to support the design process from concept to implementation while learning and contributing to the engineering team's objectives.collaborative environment
• Supporting engineers or designers in creating, modifying, and refining mechanical designs using software like CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
• Creating 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components or systems based on specifications provided by the engineering team
• Assisting in the development and testing of prototypes, which may involve assembling components, conducting measurements, and documenting results
• Collaborate cross functionally with internal teams to improve product designs
• Develop and/or review designs
• Prototype hardware considering design for manufacturability (DFM) using 3D Printing and/or CNC machines where appropriate
