Who you are
- Education: Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a focus on NLP and LLMs
- Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art language models (e.g., GPT, BERT, etc.)
- Experience in AI Conversational Agents is highly desirable
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python and relevant libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced Principal/Senior Data Scientist to join our Innovation Team
- This individual will play a crucial role in developing and implementing cutting-edge solutions, with a primary focus on AI Conversational Agents
- The successful candidate will collaborate closely with R&D engineers within the Innovation Team and work collaboratively with the broader engineering organisation
- Lead the development and enhancement of AI Conversational Agents, leveraging your expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Design and implement algorithms to improve natural language understanding and generation within conversational systems
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in NLP and LLMs to bring innovative solutions to the team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute on the research agenda for the Innovation Team
- Work closely with R&D engineers within the Innovation Team to integrate data science solutions into ongoing projects
- Collaborate with the wider engineering organization to ensure alignment and consistency in adopting data science methodologies
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Present findings, insights, and progress updates to the team and leadership
- Take ownership of the AI Conversational Agents project, ensuring timely delivery and meeting project goals
- Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
