Role
Who you are
- BS/BA in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of professional front end development experience; 3+ years of experience in React, including experience with state management, animations, and Webpack
- Experience working as a technical lead and/or architect for an Agile Engineering team
- Experience mentoring and investing in the development of engineers and peers
- Experience in delivering features through production
- Awareness of performance considerations such as cross-browser compatibility, componentization, and load-time optimizations
- Strong understanding of GraphQL server development and GraphQL-focused architecture
- Strong understanding of React/JavaScript frameworks
- Experience architecting single-page applications and/or mobile- first web applications
- Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and be willing to roll up your sleeves and execute
- Experience with React Native
- Working with complex front end projects with highly interactive features
- Experience developing with and integrating APIs
What the job involves
- As a key member of the engineering team and reporting to a Director of Engineering, the Staff Front End Engineer will act as the front end technical lead for their team, both leading the development process and writing GraphQL server-side and client-side code for web applications to improve Medely’s core experience.
- We’re looking for engineers who are passionate about developing impactful, high performance web applications using up-to-date technologies and patterns
- Act as front end technical lead for cross- functional agile software engineering team
- Lead code and design reviews, listening to feedback while sharing your knowledge with other members of the team
- Work with product managers, designers, and engineering leadership team to drive architecture and product features
- Design and implement highly visible user-facing features and applications
- Deploy testable front end code with performance, maintainability, and scale in mind

Medely provides health professionals with an online portal for finding work. Nurses and allied healthcare providers can utilize the platform to secure a job when it suits them and at their preferred rates. Healthcare centers use the system to find suitable employees, manage their workforce, and track billable hours.
There is a worldwide nursing shortage, with burnout common among healthcare professionals, leaving many healthcare employers to increasingly rely on data-driven recruitment tools such as Medely. By offering greater flexibility, and bringing casual work to healthcare, the company aims to reduce shortages and increase industry retention - even giving workers who previously left the sector a way back in.
Medely has secured a good stance in the field of the nursing gig economy, with several thousands of hospitals and outpatient facilities using the company for their staffing needs. That said, with a collection of competitors such as IntelyCare, CareRev, and Nomad - all of which also offer marketplaces for healthcare workers - Medely must work hard to continue growing its presence.
