Who you are

Comfortable with Distributed System, Data structures and Algorithms
Expert level hands-on coding skills in one or more of programming languages - Java, Scala, Python, and Go are preferable
Rigorous in software design life cycle standard methodologies (design docs, code reviews, support, Sprint planning, Agile methodologies)
Proven understanding of system and computing architectures
Familiarity with data management and infrastructure like Apache Hadoop, Spark, Flink, and Kafka
Hands on solid understanding with standard ML frameworks, and an understanding of Build, Test, Deploy, Re-train stages of full ML/AI life cycle

Desirable

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields, with 6+ years of relevant experience
Prior experience building AI and Machine Learning infrastructure and services are preferable
You will push the barriers on scalability, availability, performance and innovation, have a deep understanding of Machine Learning approaches, data pipelines, and building scalable backend applications
Participate in the technical discussions involving architecture, algorithms, and the economic aspect of the software development to scale out deployment strategies
Practical and solid understanding of distributed systems, databases, and experience on building services and development using container based platform like Kubernetes
Experience and comfortable on giving technical presentations, talks to share updates of the team's progress and accomplishments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Core Technology (CT) is a global team responsible for the end-to-end eBay technology platform. This platform runs our entire infrastructure and all the services that come together to form ebay.com
This position will join the Core AI engineering team, which is under the Core Technology (CT) umbrella. The team responsible to lead the AI transformation to entire eBay initiatives to bring magical experience to our customers
Hands-on with the design, architecture, and operating AI Platform services and capabilities for training, inference, ML model lifecycle, and feature engineering
Ensure high technical standards by instituting processes (architecture reviews, testing) and culture (engineering excellence)
Work with engineering and product leadership to build a long-term roadmap and execution plans
Coordinate execution and collaborate across teams to unblock multi-functional teams projects
