Who you are

5+ Years experience in agile software engineering teams, delivering robust distributed systems and web applications, using TypeScript, NodeJs, React, HTML & CSS
Experience in database and cloud technologies, including SQL/NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, cloud services like Cloudflare & AWS, APIs (GraphQL/REST), familiarity with developer tooling is a plus
High standards for quality, ensuring excellence while balancing pragmatism, purpose, and a strong sense of agency—taking ownership, making thoughtful trade-offs, and driving meaningful impact
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal—able to articulate complex ideas clearly, adapt messaging to different audiences, give and receive constructive feedback effectively

What the job involves

You’ll be part of our Prisma Data Platform team which is responsible for Accelerate, Prisma Postgres and the console. You'll be contributing across the stack to the projects of the team
To give you a clear idea of what the job could entail, here are some examples of the work we’ve done lately or will start soon:
Dive into the OAuth 2.0 standard to add a partner application flow that enables AI Agents to provision databases on the fly
Build a Vercel marketplace integration for Prisma Postgres
Troubleshoot and fix a bug where a customer can’t apply a coupon in the checkout process
Collaborating with a designer to create a novel way to show database metrics in our console
Bootstrap a new Cloudflare worker for our upcoming Management API (project structure, CI/CD, deployment)
You’ll be part of an on-call rotation for the Prisma console

Our take

Prisma decided to solve the age-old problem of wasted time tracking down typos and errors in code with the creation of an intelligent autocomplete feature, reducing errors such as the misspelling of variable names or misplaced parentheses.

Prisma offers a database toolkit with some powerful features such as Prisma schema data modelling and Prisma Migrate for migrations. It is an open-source ORM for Node.js and TypeScript that helps developers build faster and make fewer errors: fundamentally, it's a suite of software tools for programmers.

Investment has led to further developments by the company, with the creation of a visual editor for database workflows, and the continuing support of all data sources with the creation of further connectors for a wide range of databases. Most recent funding is going towards supporting the development of its open source tool to increase its commercial and revenue-generating products.
