Our take
The investment industry is rapidly evolving, the democratisation of Artificial Intelligence and the tremendous amount of alternative data presents opportunities and challenges. With regards to web data, there is a huge and growing corpus of unstructured content online in hundreds of different languages, which requires increasingly sophisticated Natural Language technologies to extract valuable insights on public and private companies.
SESAMm have developed a modular Natural Language Processing Platform which enables data scientists and investment professionals to generate insights and analytics from a huge data-lake of 20B web-based articles and messages. It covers more than 5M entities and insights can be delivered via an API, web-based dashboards, or pre-processed daily data feeds.
The result is that SESAMm's software turns big data into smart data to give users, typically major hedge funds, banks, and asset managers, a competitive advantage with which to manage assets. Such clients include Carlyle, MUFG and Nomura.
