Role
Who you are
- You have 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in platform, infrastructure, or cloud-focused roles
- You have solid backend engineering fundamentals and the ability to work across infrastructure-heavy systems
- You have hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure in AWS, GCP
- You have experience with Terraform or other infrastructure as code tools
- You have strong networking fundamentals, including areas such as VPCs, subnets, routing, proxies, and private connectivity
- You have built or improved deployment automation, onboarding workflows, internal cloud platforms, or customer-environment setup systems
- You can balance engineering rigor with pragmatism and are excited to turn complex setup problems into repeatable productized systems
- You communicate clearly, collaborate well across functions, and are comfortable taking ownership in an evolving environment
What the job involves
- Glean is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Platform Infrastructure team. This team is in the Platform org and focuses on customer setup and deployment, especially in complex cloud, hosting, and security environments
- You will help build the systems that bootstrap cloud accounts and projects, wire authentication, and turn deployment workflows into reliable, repeatable productized experiences for customers
- This is a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys cloud infrastructure, networking, infrastructure as code, and solving real-world deployment problems with clean software abstractions
- Build and improve systems that automate customer setup and deployment across cloud environments
- Develop deployment workflows and infrastructure as code templates that mirror customer environments and reduce manual setup work
- Improve support for complex deployment scenarios including BYO-VPC, customer-managed keys, airgapped environments, and custom-region deployments
- Work on cloud account and project bootstrapping, authentication wiring, proxy and private networking, and deployment orchestration
- Partner closely with Platform, Security, Product, and customer-facing teams to make deployments faster, safer, and easier to operate
- Raise the quality, reliability, and coverage of our AWS and GCP deployment tooling over time

Glean is an intuitive digital assistant which allows employees to search across all their apps and find the information and tools that they need more quickly.
With so many SaaS apps being used by modern day companies, overwhelm and inefficiency inevitably enter the equation. Glean’s search engine is proving popular for how it unifies and centralizes all these distributed tools and data.
It’s been quite a start to life at Glean, having emerged from stealth in 2021, it received a $1B valuation in early 2022, thus achieving unicorn status. Since then, the company has gone on to raise substantial funding and bring its valuation up to $7.2B in 2025. With this impressive growth, its secured some big name customers like Grammarly, databricks, and Rubrik.
That Glean was co-founded by a quartet with senior experience at Google, Microsoft, Uber, and Facebook stands the company in good stead. However, it’s the fact that its search engine is solving a new, but very real problem in the workplace that’s seen its popularity surge so quickly, which it’s likely to continue to do in the future. And its adaptability to include new AI capabilities to its platform, such as generative AI, has Glean well set to see further growth.
