Role
Who you are
- Strong track record of building and scaling ML/AI/LLM-driven, data-intensive systems, ideally involving product catalogs, taxonomy design, or computer vision
- 10+ years of product management experience
- 2+ years managing PMs or cross-functional pods
- Adept at navigating highly technical conversations with engineering and ML leaders, while keeping user outcomes at the center
- Skilled in experimentation and data interpretation, including hypothesis-driven development and continuous learning
- Confident setting strategy, framing tradeoffs, and aligning stakeholders across product, engineering, analytics, ops, and executive teams
- Thrive in ambiguity and move quickly, defining your own roadmap when necessary and making bold bets when the time is right
- Comfort guiding teams through system migrations, technical debt paydown, or large-scale data infrastructure evolution
- Experience with consumer or retail data platforms, such as in ecommerce, loyalty, ads, or retail tech
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Head of Core ML Products to accelerate and innovate on the ML/AI-driven systems that decode, enrich, and connect billions of data points we ingest from receipts and other behaviors to help over 12.5M users Live Rewarded
- These technologies fuel nearly every surface of the Fetch app, from personalized shopping recommendations and insights to campaign measurement and capturing anomalous user behavior
- You’ll be joining Fetch at an inflection point, where new technologies and tooling are evolving our ways of working and building products. You’ll dig deep into product and engineering workflows, and ensure every aspect of our Core ML Products are highly accurate and performant
- Own the vision, strategy, and execution for our receipt scanning, product matching, catalog enrichment, and user trust/safety products, which power both consumer and B2B experiences across Fetch
- Collaborate cross-functionally with our core ML and AI teams, including our Chief AI Officer, LLM Labs, Sales Operations and Go-To-Market to ensure we deliver scalable, accurate, user-centric and compliant solutions
- Collaborate across the Product Org to ensure systems capturing receipt and behavioral intelligence are deeply embedded into consumer experiences and brand outcomes (e.g., targeting, measurement)
- Build the intelligence and rules-engine that power anomalous behavior detection and user education, and establish brand trust within the Fetch ecosystem
- Lead and grow a high-performing team to support your goals, providing guidance on product craft, technical partnership, and cross-functional delivery while also directly owning strategic initiatives of your own
- Use data, experimentation, and instincts to drive prioritization, define success metrics, and course-correct as needed
- Immerse yourself in the Fetch consumer and partner experiences to become an expert in your subject area; you live on our apps
- No excuses; take ownership and responsibility for outcomes, and be ready to take action to remediate issues and solve tough problems in a fast-paced environment
Our take
Leading mobile shopping and loyalty platform Fetch has seen explosive success in recent years. Its concept is simple: users receive spendable points in exchange for scans of their shopping receipts.
The app has tens of millions of daily active users with even more downloads, and has seen impressive growth, having now reached 'unicorn' status twice over. This should come as no surprise. Brand reinforcement is crucial to customer retention and acquisition - but it is harder than ever, with the fragmentation of choice on the market and the declining efficacy of marketing. So material loyalty benefits are likely to prove a crucial tool in creating and leveraging a strong customer base.
Whilst Fetch faces competition from similar receipt-scan rewards platforms like ReceiptPal and Ibotta, it grew into a profitable company in late 2023. And its using its most recent Morgan Stanley-backed funding to aggressively add brand partners at a competitive pace and onboard staff at a level that promises strong continued growth.
