Who you are
- 2+ years of inside technology sales experience with a history of success in a consultative sales environment
- Strong work ethic with the ability to overcome objections and build trust
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and must be comfortable explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong critical thinking skills and a creative approach to penetrating new accounts
- Metrics-driven, comfortable with utilizing (and ideally creating) spreadsheets, CRM, RFPs
- Experience using Salesforce CRM
- Experience with a sales automation tool, Outreach.io preferred. (other tools: salesloft, yesware, quickmail.io, etc)
- Ability to work a schedule of 8am - 5pm; travel up to 10%-15% of the time
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
What the job involves
- We are looking for an Account Executive to be a key member of the Sales organization and drive growth opportunities by focusing on identifying, targeting, and closing new business.
- You will lead product demos, qualify potential merchants and provide solutions to build trust in the Recharge platform.
- You will have the opportunity to work with a range of merchants, varying in size and industry, and will be responsible for owning the full sales cycle for each of your accounts
- Our sales organization has different levels of Account Executives, and each level has a specific OTE aligned to it. We are currently looking to hire Account Executives for our Commercial/SMB team
- This role will require you to be in-office full time, and is located close to Old Street Station

- Conduct in depth market research to identify and qualify new account opportunities
- Expertly complete the end-to-end sales cycle from cold email outreach to scheduling and facilitating online product demonstrations and closing the sale
- Perform business, product and technical demonstrations to customers and prospective customers as needed
- Use a value-oriented, consultative sales approach to educate customers on what products will best meet their business needs; building long term relationships
- Independently manage a pipeline with multiple prospects and consistently utilize Salesforce to document progress
- Identify where enterprise-level or complex merchants require teamwork with Sales Engineers
- Consistently exceed quarterly metrics and quota

Our take
Ecommerce platform Recharge has been in operation since 2014, helping brands set up and manage a subscription business, removing the operational inefficiencies that brands would face when attempting to manage this themselves. Its cloud-based subscription management platform aims to offer merchants flexibility by leading with an API focus.
Recharge’s basic premise has proven a smart one, with the eCommerce subscription market growing substantially since the company was founded. It of course rose particularly steeply over the pandemic, with the closure of brick-and-mortar stores, but in general still follows a market trend towards direct-to-consumer relationships - promising a growing market for Recharge going forwards.
Success for the company has been clear, with its merchant roster boasting several thousand users including Harry’s, Oatly, and BrewDog. The sector has attracted substantial funding, with Recharge completing a remarkable funding round in 2021. This came atop its already stable, cash-flow-positive business, and supported its further progress as the subscription industry developed. The company is focused on maintaining its strong position, with new updates and improvements to its offering including Retain, a suite of tools designed to support retention throughout the subscriber lifecycle.
