- 5+ years of experience working in a production Ruby on Rails codebase
- Experience with GraphQL

What the job involves
- This role will be a Senior Backend Engineer who reports directly to the CTO
- This role entails building out product-related features in our API only, Ruby on Rails monorepo
- You will work closely with our backend team, frontend team, and product team to put ideas into production
- When building product, you will be expected to work with our design team and frontend engineers to establish data contracts and patterns so that the feature is built seamlessly and is easily maintainable
- Once your features are scoped out, you will create tickets and milestones for your tasks
- Once the features are complete, you will also be writing documentation, both for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Beyond building new features, you will also be expected to maintain and enhance existing features
- You will also be interacting with several external APIs, so you are expected to write failsafe, resilient code
- In addition to building product, you will build out internal tools for our customer experience team
- These internal tools are to help customer support agents interact with our database and solve user issues
- In addition, you will also work through high priority user issues that are delivered from customer support
- These will require you to investigate and debug through the codebase and via the rails console
- Your first 90 days will look like the following:
- Within 30 days, you will have built several admin tools, such as the ability to lookup specific payments or cancel specific memberships. You will also add the ability for a seller to reply to a customer’s review
- Within 60 days, you will have added new emails to be automatically sent to users, enhanced our customer resolution center, and redone our Telegram integration flow
- Within 90 days, you will have re-designed our affiliate system, enhanced our marketplace search algorithm, and implemented security enhancements such as email verification
