Who you are
- You have 5+ years of demonstrated success in customer relationship management or complex project management, ideally at a growing startup working with SMBs and Enterprises in the DACH region
- You've demonstrated a consistent record of building and fostering durable business relationships; you remain calm and collected when facing crisis or criticism and celebrate customers’ successes with them
- You have comfort in working cross-functionally, aligning with sales leaders, product teams or customers at the biggest companies in the world to make sure our customers achieve their goals
- You’re a savvy and tactful communicator with experience managing complex business relationships; you intuitively find the right tone and feel comfortable working with people from a wide range of backgrounds
- You’re comfortable working in fast-paced environments, identifying priorities and overseeing multiple tasks simultaneously

- You have experience in the realm of carbon accounting, corporate sustainability, or ESG reporting
- You are a native or fluent German speaker
What the job involves
- We're seeking an independent, forward-thinking Customer Success Manager to join the team and lead the customer experience in the DACH region. As a Customer Success Manager DACH you are the face of Plan A to our clients and the voice of our clients within our organisation
- Act as a trusted advisor to our large customers in DACH and ensure their success; manage the client relationships, ranging from your counterparts to senior stakeholders within our client's organisations
- Become an expert on the Plan A platform by leveraging deep product and carbon accounting knowledge, resolving partners’ pain points and identifying opportunities for future product development
- Guide our customers on strategic questions related to sustainability and carbon accounting, leveraging the strengths of our subject-matter experts
- Work with our technical teams to ensure client feedback is heard and shape the future of our product pipeline
- Work with our sales team to translate customer opportunities into commercial value
- Design operational strategy and push execution; continuously working to scale processes and systems to drive rapid growth
Our take
The EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation means that 75% of European companies across the EU and U.K. will be reporting their environmental footprint in 2023. That represents a massive opportunity for startups like Plan A that deliver B2B monitoring services of companies’ sustainability indicators.
The startup is hoping to distinguish itself in a market that is now saturated with services, some of which offer little practical benefit. Plan A's B Corporation certification demonstrates that its tools comply with the strictest reporting standards and reflect the latest developments in climate science.
The company is planning to furnish its product to become best in class, focusing on decarbonisation tooling and the tricky Scope 3 calculations for various industries. While decarbonisation via offsetting can be a lucrative area, Plan A must be careful not to encourage compensation measures for avoidable emissions as this could delegitimise its ESG reporting system and undercut the benefits of using its platform.
