Who you are
- What’s a founding designer? Good question. It’s someone that cares about aesthetics and product equally. Who will be expected to contribute to high level business decisions but also be hands-on in the wonderfully messy world of shipping product. You will play an pivotal role in creating both our product and culture, and we will give you the tools and autonomy to aid this. If you are at the stage of your career where you want real ownership, and the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, please reach out. Experience in product and design matters. But what really matters is that you have the determination to grow and develop new skills, and a collaborative nature. We’ll have your back however we can. You right for the role if: • You have the attitude and the desire to build something great. • The humility to know when something is not great. • Be comfortable helping others do their best work.
- Strong command of interaction design, graphic design, branding and/or information architecture
- You’re an empathetic team player that is great at building lasting relationships
- An entrepreneurial mind, ready to launch and fail and iterate
- Attuned to remote collaboration, using digital tools and meticulously documenting work
- An expert English language communicator that has a knack for breaking down complex topic
- A hands-on problem solver, self-motivated with a glass half-full attitude
- Experience working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
- Adept at communicating and prototyping interactions rapidly at all levels of resolution
- A deep knowledge of modern web UI patterns
- A strategic thinker, who sees both the big picture and the smaller underlying mechanics
What the job involves
- Constantly think in systems. To guide brand and product design as well as get involved in user research and customer success. Someone that enjoys:
- 1. Designing interaction models, wireframes and prototypes that focus on ease of use and optimise how customers interact with our software. Present design solutions, defend design decisions and incorporate feedback into the design cycle
- 2. Maintain a unified, scalable, and progressive design system through libraries and documentation. Make sure that we build accessibility into our product right from the start
- 3. Gather and document insights that will influence our UX, feature development and roadmaps. Help establish best practices for user research at RYE
- **Be an advocate for good design** Actively develop a positive, productive and passionate design culture within RYE. Represent our mission externally, through active exchange with the design industry
- **Be an owner** You’d be working directly with our founding team to build great product and foster a culture of product excellence. We truly believe technology can create a real difference in our client’s lives, that we can provide the same transparency and power over electrons, users now enjoy over banking
