Who you are
- 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in SaaS or productivity software
- Passion for nurturing early-stage ideas and driving them to execution with clarity and purpose
- Technical fluency that enables effective collaboration with engineers, data scientists, and researchers
- Customer-obsessed mindset—leading with curiosity and focusing on outcomes over outputs
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and align cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional storytelling and influencing skills to build stakeholder alignment and generate enthusiasm for new initiatives
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML, LLMs, or developing user-facing intelligent features
- Working knowledge of prompt engineering, generative AI, or personalization at scale
- Strategic vision for how AI can transform visual collaboration and the future of work
What the job involves
- In this pioneering role, you'll build upon our existing AI innovations to shape the next generation of intelligent collaboration tools
- You'll drive our evolving AI strategy forward and create products that empower all our users to achieve breakthrough thinking and collaboration outcomes that weren't possible before
- Lead 0→1 product development for AI-powered experiences within Mural's core platform
- Shape and evolve our AI product strategy, and roadmap with clear business outcomes
- Identify and prioritize high-impact AI opportunities that create measurable user and business value
- Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration with design, engineering, research, and data science teams to create intelligent workflows and features
- Validate concepts through rapid experimentation, rigorous customer research, and data driven iteration
- Ensure our AI solutions balance innovation with user needs, ethical principles, and responsible AI practices
- Serve as Mural's AI innovation hub, incubating forward thinking concepts, creating reusable components, and establishing patterns that other teams can adopt and build upon
- Elevate Mural's AI offerings through compelling communication that accelerates customer adoption and enhances our position in the industry
Our take
Mural is a virtual collaboration platform that caters both to the increasing demand for visual work methods and the shift towards remote working. Functioning more like a team- or business-wide whiteboard than a chat room, it is part of a developing trend away from single-channel platforms like Slack and towards a more integrated collaborative workspace.
Founded in 2011, Mural is an early entrant in an increasingly crowded field which includes rivals such as Gather and Tandem. However, it stands out with the flexibility of its approach to multi-functional virtual spaces and range of integrations. This has allowed it to gather a large customer base in a diverse range of companies including IBM, Autodesk and SAP.
The company boasts strong development, securing multiple funding rounds early in its journey that grew its valuation beyond $2 billion. It has since successfully found a more mature direction through leadership changes and a rebrand, continue its growth in a new phase for the company.
