Role
Who you are
- 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources
- Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Workday: You should be comfortable navigating and administering HR data within an HRIS system
- You are extremely process-oriented and have proven examples of effective project management in the HR space with associated metrics You’re highly analytical, and can understand and dissect data and use it to inform actions and processes
- You’re resilient and can be flexible with changing business needs and priorities
- You’re great at building relationships and trust within the organization
- Ability to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement: A keen eye for streamlining processes and a willingness to explore innovative solutions are important
What the job involves
- As the People Operations Specialist, you will support critical people operations initiatives from onboarding to offboarding, such as new hire onboarding, wellness initiatives, and benefits open enrollment
- In this role, you will support various people systems, such as Workday, Greenhouse, and JIRA, to ensure data integrity, usability, and compliance. Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you will leverage data insights to inform strategic decisions
- Support People Ops initiatives—from design to implementation—across onboarding, internal mobility, performance management, benefits open enrollment, and offboarding
- Own and improve people systems (e.g., Workday, Greenhouse, JIRA), ensuring data integrity, usability, and scalability
- Support the maintenance and optimization of HRIS software to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance
- Provide training and support to HR staff and employees in HR systems usage and troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Support compensation processes by ensuring job profiles, including job leveling, are updated, annual bonus tracking, support external benchmarking, and new hire equity allocation
- People Data & Analysis: Leverage data from our HRIS and other tools to produce dashboards, reports, and insights around headcount, turnover, DEI, engagement, and performance trends—informing strategic decisions across the organization

Rent the Runway seeks to profit from two important trends in apparel consumption: wanting to stay on top of the latest fashion trends while living and purchasing sustainably. By providing a platform for women to rent designer pieces, its users can have it all.
The company allows users to rent, subscribe, or buy designer apparel and accessories. It achieves this with its network of partnerships with hundreds of top designers and managing the crucial but complicated logistics in-house. It offers its partnered brands sophisticated analytics about potential customers in return for lower prices on designer garments.
Rent the Runway is now focused on diversifying revenue streams while reducing its costs. Its recent partnership with Amazon is an example of this new direction: while it will use this channel to sell clothes previously rented through its platform, it will, for the first time, be selling new clothes based on rental items modified in line with market data.
While moves such as this may well shift Rent the Runway towards profitability, it also risks undercutting the company's central message of sustainability and supporting the circular economy. The company believes that by creating better quality clothing, it will nonetheless be aiding in the fight against fast fashion. Time will tell if this move helps or hinders the sustainability movement, but it is likely to boost Rent the Runway's bottom line regardless.
