Desirable

We’re looking for a driven, ambitious and proactive Account Executive or Senior Account Executive to join our close-knit team. You must have at least two years of experience working within the PR industry (or relevant adjacent sector), either within agencies or in-house. While a background in technology, startups, or the media is preferable, if you don’t have this then you must be willing to learn about and foster an interest in them.

What the job involves

Pitching and developing relationships with journalists at some of the most well-read media publications globally, including The Guardian, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, and The New York Times
Building and nurturing strong relationships with our clients through excellent communication, strategic counsel, and seamless execution of PR initiatives
Owning client relationships from ideation to delivery - handle reporting, administration, strategic brainstorming, research into specific industries, and proactively shape narratives that elevate clients' media presence
Writing press releases, opinion articles, pitches for journalists, quotes and social media copy
Coming up with and running creative campaign ideas
Analysing and extracting newsworthy client data
Travelling internationally to meet with our global clients and support them at events

Application process

In your submission please explain why you are applying for the role of Account Executive or Senior Account Executive at Nara Communications
If we want to proceed with your application we'll send psychometric logic and personality tests that are designed to reduce bias in our hiring processes. The test takes around 30 minutes, and based on your results we’ll set up an intro meeting with one of the team
Following that intro meeting you’ll be given a PR-related task to work on in your own time, ahead of presenting it on Zoom, or in-person, to our team, including Nick, our CEO
Immediately following that meeting, you’ll be given a short (45 minutes) writing task in order to demonstrate your proficiency
The final stage consists of a meeting (preferably in-person) with Nick and some of the wider senior team who you’ll be working with

Every company, no matter the size, depends upon its reputation for success. Public relations, also known as PR, is a key management tool for businesses to help them achieve their goals and improve their image. It's no surprise, then, that this is a big market: in 2021 it was calculated that the global PR market was worth $92.55 billion, and by the end of 2025 the industry is expected to surpass a value of $129 billion.

Founded in 2021, Nara Communications has set an impressive early trajectory, already working with a number of businesses ranging from pre-seed startups to multinational companies. A key advantage which PR companies have is that their potential market is huge - demand is always there, and is always changing.

However, a bountiful market inevitably has its disadvantages; Nara will face some stiff competition as it fights to get established in the market. The PR market is particularly dominated by large PR firms such as Hope and Glory and City Press. Key to Nara's success, then, will be building a client base so that it can compete alongside longer-established firms and carve out some serious market share.
